I was about >.< close to pre-ordering the collector's edition of EAW yesterday. But what stopped me was all of the changes that we have been seeing between what the game was presented as and what it is being revealed as. I am curious if anyone else has already pre-ordered, bought outright online, are waiting to try the demo, etc. When you make an answer, please post as to why.. thanks.

I didn't preorder, I don't know if I can, tight budget in my house. Might have to wait until the library has it to borrow.(my library system seems to have amost all the new not childish games like BF1 and 2 for the pc, R:TW, AOM, AOE3.)

I'd love to buy it if budget allows it.

The problem I see is that there are too many people that will buy this game because it is Star Wars and also because it is a Star Wars RTS. This means that Lucas Arts can make their money and the few of us who may or may not protest by holding off buying it or not buying it altogether will be drowned out in the storm.

Well everything is fine with the game so I will still get it when it comes out. I agree with what Lucasarts did to Petroglyph since we would have had a cookie cutter like game with units and the games quality would of lacked slightly and would of been worse then what the negative people are saying.

They can't really. Even if they wanted to pull out now, they couldn't without sacrificing their company. Contracts are signed (in blood probably) when you purchase a license to use in a game. It looks like LEC put alot of control in their own hands as part of the deal as well.

Well, I have suffered a few disappointments with the game, I mostly fear that the game may be too simplistic (which is always good for a week or two, but games that hook you fast also become boring quickly).

BUT, the game still looks sweet, and I am getting it without a doubt. The graphics are great, combat looks exciting, and best of all -> multiplayer campaign mode! :D

You know. I would just buy it as it is Star Wars. But I loved Rebellion and Galactic Battlegrounds. Why? Community. The games werent outstanding but playable and fun, but its the community that really can sell the game online.

I play Dawn Of War online, superb game, despite using gamespy, and again, its the people I have made friends with, I am playing with having a laugh. Afterall, thats what playing games is about

I hated the Blizzard community, I kept on getting rude messages just because I waited for someone from this forum to join a race. Then they cried that my hosting was laggy :| Talk about stupid people that join my race game and being all pushy. Thats why I always play with people I know online.

Warcraft 3 btw ^

Due to the release date move, them saying it wont be easy to mod it and lack of a demo i am rapidly loosing faith in this game. plus the low system req's are making me question the quality this game will have (note, if you want to do something such as push back a game atleast give us a demo to ease the response... such as: we have to push it back some but here is the demo to for you all please understand it.) the other thing i have a complaint on is why someone who isnt even a lucas employee or a dev telling us this stuff, no offense but i would rather the people who make the game post this info and tell us not someone else my 2 cents

felixforever Welcome to the forums

Yes we are all annoyed at the news but two weeks is acceptable since Lucas/Petro are working their rears off. If they gave us the demo with the bad news think of it like a band-aid and a wound they created (not that they created one but a bad example).

DarthMaulUK is a trusted member of the community and has strong ties with the two companies so why shouldn't he speak for them at times? Don't want to be rude now but whats the big deal? If he let out rumors you know how much guilt he would be faced with?

I have pre-ordered and wont cancel my order, because unlike many people I still love this game! It's great that someone finally has made an RTS that is worthy of Star Wars. Despite some sad news, it is still gonna be an excellent game.

Agreed. It's so easy to look at the negative with some of the news we've been getting lately, but every time I think about EaW I can't feel a feeling of anticipation because I know in spite of all the negative talk that this game is the game that I will play for many years. :)

I hope for Petroglyph's sake the game is good. Even if it sells well but critics hate it, it will drive a stake into the next Petroglyph game (which won't be /w LEC no doubt).
