My last thread was deleted, any I hope it was from how it was presented (because it was presented poorly, sorry). It was not a flame post, just a bad post. I'll do better this time:

"My hope is that we can work together and nail these issues as a group when they arise." PG

"Community support and balancing feedback is extremely important to us. The community is our eyes and ears to our non-vocal audience and helps us make better games. We fully plan to support this product as necessary to rectify any issues that may come up after release. "

"(Regards to Gamespy) If we have to issue a day 1 patch to fix balance and connectivity issues before the game goes live we will. If another patch needs to be issued 1 month later to fix more issues, than so be it. "

Can the idea of using Gamespy get patched?

All this feels like lip services. The fans want a game that is accurate to starwars. They want units all the way up to RoTJ. They don't want to use Gamespy.

4 months after saying "Um, the powercore is supposed to be inside the shields" we get "Oh yeah btw, we fixed that on some of the maps". Why not four months ago: "Fans, you are right. We are going to fix that. This game is for you."

If the community is the eyes and ears, and we have a responsibility to helping make the game better, then we need to speak out about what we really are concerned about. Rather than just saying "This seems perfect. And the last thing we want is LA thinking that we don't worship them" People who don't make these points are doing a disservice, because we represent a small sample of the entire gaming community. And all of us want the game to succeed.

I don't know what your previous post contained but I think this one is right on target. I feel this is a response to those who flame anyone who says something negative about the road EAW is apparently taking, and I agree for the most part. There are a host of things that this game is turning into that are direct contradictions to what we expected as it was being developed.

If we don't voice our concerns, there is no hope that anything will change for the better on its own. Our voices may fall on deaf ears, but that is better than not saying anything at all.

They don't want to use Gamespy

I want to use gamespy.I think the few vocal on this forum counts as the 'fans".

then we need to speak out about what we really are concerned about.

problem is alot of people tend to whine or rant rather then voice a concern.

but we do have a place where those concerns can be placed it just happens that if the devs take notice or not is subjective to if the want to or even can do. we have to remember they are answerable to LA and if LA say they don't want something in the game then they cant put it in the game. btw the timeline is final they're not going to add anything at this stage no matter how much you whine or rant for the SSD or B-wing if you take notice these things are being modded in by LoW and will be available in due course from Fosh And his Cohorts at the LoW Modding centre.

the Modding will be possible Delphi said so in the last questions and Answer her just said it maybe a little bit trickier.

The problem is that he said that the game will not be moddable out of the box and neither will the demo. Any moddability will have to be supported by tools that Petroglyph releases and that is up to LEC, which is the problem.

Alot of us are afraid that LEC will block any mod attempts if they have the option to protect their interests if they want to do a sequel or expansion pack.

lol ok but i didnt know about you i only knew about Fosh! but yeah but the way that Delphi's been hinting they are going to bring out a expansion if they do that the SSD and B-wing would surely be on the top of the list.

Depends i know sevral titles in the past that shiped without mod tools, yet still had some mods amde with alot of extra work, but it was possable.

Well, the problem is that Petroglyph has been trying to make it moddable from the start which means that LEC could see that and order them to make it non-moddable. A game that is not designed to be modded can be, but one that is designed to not be modded can not be modded legally, in most cases. This is my worry, that LEC will tell them to block as many mod techniques as possible. I fervently hope I am wrong...
