How much do you like this game?

I've heard a LOT of complains about the game, not only here but in all the EaW forums I have entered, not saying that they are right but just want to know how many peaple like the game(I know it haven't been released, but we got an Idea of the game, from all the previews) and explain the reason, if this has been posted, then sorry, delete the topic, just want to know

if your talking about on the LEC forums EJM it's Cheesinator and some others that are trying to stir things up on there. i haven't seen more than one complaint on here about it and everything from the Lucasforums is positive.

I know the game is looking awesome, for me it is, but want to hear the other peaple's opinion, besides, this is the first GOOD Star wars RTS, Rebellion is good but EaW is WAY Better

Jeez man! You don't have to be so negative! Rebellion was crappy because it was made by people who didn't know what they were doing. This game is almost garenteed to be infinately better. It's made by the makers of C&C, in case you didn't notice, one of the best RTS games of all time, not some monkeys at LucasArts with a budget! Maybe you're the one that needs a "check upside the head"! This is going to be the best Star Wars RTS to date, heck, maybe the best RTS to date period, and not even LucasArts budget can stop that! Besides, if you don't have faith in the game, why are you on these forums wasting your time!?

Petroglyph has alot of talented people for sure, but LEC is still in charge of the product and is a source of most of our recent woes I feel.

 

Saying that this will be the best Star Wars RTS to date is not saying much. Star Wars and RTS are generally not put in the same sentence with positive reactions.

 

Some of us have been following this game way before we even knew about the true timeline. We have been watching what we thought was going to be an outstanding, superb game. Now we have hardly anything that we have learned about the game to be positive. The planet count, pop cap, timeline ending at ANH, no diplomacy, possibly no moddability, the list goes on.

 

Read through Delphi-PG's posts chronologically, oldest to newest. You will see what we are talking about when we express dissappointment.

well maybe someone should start a petition and send it off to LEC telling them to back off and loosen the purse strings with the Empire at War if they don't we should make a collection or summat and send it DIRECTLY to Petroglyph if moneys the problem.

If you say the game is going to be good its going to be good (in your mind) but if you say its going to be bad then when you play it your going to be disappointed since you disappointed yourself with the thoughts of being bad. Try playing a game and make yourself hate it so then the game will suck (Not always works since theres bound to be one crappy game out there each year).

I think the main issue is that we had so many ideas about how good this game was going to be that are now being proven false that we are left trying to see what it is that will make this game better than something else we could spend our money on.

 

For myself, I was hoping for a Rebellion replacement.

Well I was expecting After Episode 3 to end of Episode 6 but if its from Episode 3 to 4 then its still good, we got a more of a quality game then a cookie cutter. Also I wanted to see the Stormtrooper scouts to get off their bikes and sniper but that didn't happen and well I accept that. Gamespy? As I said 6 times now I hate Gamespy. Still tho that shouldn't stop someone from playing the game. Modding the game problems? We even been told we would get our tools during release and coding looks easy enough

My teacher was a pain in the neck but she was right. Also the program Pascal is pickier then her when she was around but I was able to make my joke programs which people dont download Pascal is good but no fun animations Well there was this one game but the rest dont count

 

I tried programing in Delphi and it is almost similar to Pascal but my teacher didn't explain it very well. If I studied it I could have been great at making games with it But seeing as she didn't I suck at Delphi 0.7 I think it was.

 

Anyways EAW coding look easy but not all of it I shall admit since there has to be complex ones to run the game. Sorry for going off topic just it had to do with coding topic.

Well, I think that as far as coding goes, we probably wont be seeing any of that without illegally decompiling the executables (which I don't recomend). The moddability when it comes to anything ressembeling code has to do with data and that should be in either straight text ini files, xml or something similar. Of course, with the new info on non-moddability out of box and for demo, there is no telling what will be possible any more.

Im starting to get a little upset over all the people complaining and we haven't even seen a demo out yet! As soon as the demo comes out than you can start complaining but until then stop complaining about something you havn't ever played! But I know im gonna love this game no matter what because, its Star Wars and its the first RTS to give it justice.
