The GeForce 4 doesn't work with DirectX 9. The first geforce card to work is the 5200, I believe. Looking at newegg, they seem to be about $40 for a 5200fx 128mb card (if you are willing to spend a bit more, newegg also has a considerably better 5500fx 256mb eVGA card for $50. I have a 128mb version of that on my sister's computer, and I can vouch that it packs a punch, particularly for its price). I am not quite sure why they mentioned T&L, as I am 99% sure there are no Dx9 cards without T&L.

 

Problem is you can't add a new graphics card to a laptop, no one told me this when I got it....

Ahh, that sucks. My thinkpad is like that as well, with a 16mb sis card. Fortunantly, my desktop is more than good enough.

 

As for demo release, AoEIII's demo was released on a wednesday. Perhaps a 21st release date?

when they release the demo then they will release it as a update to the official siite with the Empire update that is sure to come next. so my bet is Next friday the 23rd or maybe the Sat 24th (X-mas eve).
