well that depends on what the rest of you computer system...is it a newer system, then go with the 7800 just make sure you have a decent power supply, if its an older system, and you don't have a 8x AGP go with the 6600...the 7800 will cause to much of a bottleneck effect, and you'll never get graphics as good as the claim, though chances are you prolly wouldn't notice it much.

Personally i would go with just a regular 6600 rather then the GT, considering that one can get a 6600 256 DDR cheaper then a 6600GT 128 DDR. Another thing to consider if have one, use PCI-Express, buy a card that uses it cause unless they come out with a faster AGP slot...look to see less and less of AGP Cards

I'm just curious, but what would you prefer to have on your PC. Two 6600's on SLI, or one 7800 GT?

I'm getting the GT, but curious as to what you guys would get. Plus there isnt that many fresh topics floating around.

The one GT because it owns the 6600s in SLI. The GT owns 6800GTs in SLI even so you'd get a card with maybe 3 or 4 times the performance of one 6600 and twice that at least of them in SLI.

Anyone got the board and mula to SLI the 7800s? And would it be worth it?

Your just not going to get the performance that you would have got if you went with a PC, especially for the price.

I was considering getting an XPS Gen 2, with a 6800 Ultra (before they had 7800's), but thank the lord I did not! That would have been $3,000 practically wasted.

My PC that I'm customizing will cost me around $1,800, and it will beat any laptop out there. Compare the prices and the performance differences, then ask yourself, "Is simple mobility worth all of that wasted money and poor graphics?"
