Are you sure that 4 v 4 isn't only allowed in Skirmish mode?

Skirmish is just a land or space battle, like any other RTS games multiplayer, no campaign features.

the galactic conquest MP is 2 players only, and its the singleplayer sandbox game only instead of the enemy being AI, its a real person.

Thats been my understanding of it since i first heard of EAW.

and from the continued info from videos, posts and dev transcripts, it would appear to be true.

No, Skirmish mode is a single map, Scenario mode is Galactic Conquest.

Oh that sucks. I was really looking forward too my friend's and I taking over the galaxy together. I really hope this becomes a feature in future expansions, especially when more planets are added. Think this would be a lot of fun.

If people complain about it enough, they may release it in an expansion :). Though I doubt it since most games /w separate map/battle modes don't have a *campaign* map multiplayer at all.

Very true. That is why something like that would be truly revoltionary. I can see some logistical problems, but I think they could be easily overcome.

The main problem is that with more than 2 players in the campaign map you will have a battle take place between 2 players and the rest have to watch due to the way the battles are handled. This will not be something that would go over very well in the long run and something the developers wouldn't waste time on.

The only game I can think of that did something like this is Lords of the Realm II. And that is a good example of the sitting there and watching someone else fight situation I am referring to.

I can see something like this work for a star wars game. It might not be feasible now in this game, but in a couple years I can definitely see it.

If two players go to battle you have the option to either go to their battle cam and watch the battle unfold. Two, you can go about what you are doing. or Three, if you are in close proximity to the battle you launch into hyperspace and go help as reinforcements (distance would affect time it takes to get there, by the time you get there the battle may be over and you may find yourself coming out of hyperspace on the enemy fleet).

I agree, this would take a lot for a current game to handle, but eventually some game will do it and probably withen the next couple years.

For the record here is how the multiplayer modes breaks down:

Skirmish Tactical (Land & Space) = Individual maps that range between 2-8 players. These maps are themed on and above some of your favorite planets (Yavin, Hoth, Dagobah, and more). This mode was created from scratch and uses some game mechanics not found in the single-player game. I had a blast designing this one…

Campaign = Contains a variety of different scenarios ranging from 8-43 planets (similar to single-player) depending on which scenario players choose. In this mode you can only play 1vs1. But! Players will be able to save their games to continue at a later date. This mode most resembles the single-player experience. We’ve had some games last up to two days straight (20 hours).

In the next week or so GameSpot will be releasing my dev diary that contains in-depth details about each mode. So stay tuned!

My hope is that we can work together and nail these issues as a group when they arise.

Will do. I think Ismael has a plan of createing a bug feedback online database on were you can post only as guest to avoid some possible legal issues.

Personally I will suggest that NMA should use their future QA dep to manage this colaboration to track bugs and improve our game.

I want to see a clean system that will give maximum results in the shortest time possible.

Lets just hope that we will not find any major bugs.
