Nevets Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Okay, new info regarding the new Game Informer magazine that i just got in the mail.they had a little box talking about the DS and apparently you must control Kashyyk AND Geonosis! just info id like to share, impact your starting strategies at all? Hmm interesting, but not unexpected. I like this though, makes a lot of sense. The Geonosians are engineers and from what I hear they were actual slave laborers on the death star. Wookiees are just notorious for being slave labor.
OMEGA Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I posted the preview from my scanner in the "Previews and Screenshots" section of the forum if you want to read the whole thing. GI is an exellent magazine, and they seem to love it so far. http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1454 "The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some would consider to be unnatural."- Darth Sidious http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/2268/tfomegag25vz.jpg
Nevets Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Yea just read the interview and it said Geonosis would be for materials, guess that makes sense as well.
Gen.Vader Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 tch, reposting my topic, dont you have any shame omega?? jk thanks for the extra info i was too lazy to produce, laziness is so hard sometimes..... I've have you now - Lord Vader
Grey_Raven37 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I think its interesting that Desparye isn't in the game sense most EU sources have the DS being built in orbit of the planet by the prisoner slave labor. "I aim to misbehave."
TxShadow Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 So, I have to capture Kashyyk now. Oh well, just another world to invade.
Teradyn_pff Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 If you have to hold those two planets, could you have the Death Star 99% completed and lose all of your time and resources in one swift stroke if the Rebels blockade one of those two planets? Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 no probably not TEradyn but i dont plan to build the DS anyway but i'll conquer them anyway. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
plokoon9619 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 What about Aeten 2 for the Death Star crystals?
Darth Tyrant Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Not bad, we should be able to build a Death Star when we have alot of power and influence in the planets we have under our control.
Nevets Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Brings up an interesting question. While we need the planet under our control or will we need the wookiees under our control? I am saying this because if you enslave them they wont help you out if the rebels attack. Now if you just need the planets under control you still could be able to say the wooks to help you out.

The wookies that will be working on it will be taken offsite so they are a moot point for that purpose. The ones that are left will probably fight against the Empire during any ground map. The ones that are left will probably fight against the Empire during any ground map. The Ewoks are shown fighting the rebellion in that one clip. Don't think it is a stretch to have the wooks fight them too. The wookiees will probably rebel against you once you start on the death star, but if your not i'm not sure if they will.
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 the Empire may have been using the special corrupt power that Delphi has said the Emperor has. on those ewoks (unlikely but may have). but anyway the Wookiees may not fight against you it depends if you order slaves or hire them. cause if you can change history then you should be able to stop the slavery if you can change history. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Naja Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Makes me wonder: since the Empire needs to own those two planets to build the Death Star, is there going to be any other technology that's dependant on ownership on any number of planets?
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Why the heck do you need kashyyk? the concept of slaves in Star wars is pointless because they have droids and whatnot, you never saw anything in the movies that came close to slaves which points to the EU, which explains why it's ill-conceived.

Chewbacca was a slave freed by Han Solo. This is in the Canon section of the discription on Starwars.com, not the EU section. For their brutish strength and technological savvy, Wookiees were enslaved by the Empire for use as labor. For a time, Chewbacca was a slave, toiling away for the betterment of the Empire until an impudent Imperial cadet named Han Solo freed him. http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/chewbacca/ Also from the "Movie section" Kashyyyk's loyalty meant little to the unscrupulous Empire that arose to replace the Republic. Despite their proven intelligence, Wookiees were enslaved by the Empire and exploited for their brute strength. Their homeworld was blockaded, and a free Wookiee was a rare sight in the galaxy. Perhaps the best-known free Wookiee was Chewbacca, loyal co-pilot and friend of famed Corellian smuggler Han Solo. Chewbacca was instrumental in the defeat of the Empire, and the eventual liberation of his people. http://www.starwars.com/databank/species/wookiee/index.html
Guest Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 oh whoops frogot about old chewie, but it is still kind of stupid not to use droids which are the best kind of slaves
Popcorn2008 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Why make millions of droids when you have a whole planet of strong wookies? The empire would have to make droids to do the construction which would take more time, and it makes more sense to use slave labour (im NOT endorsing slavery here, but im just saying it is in the empire's agenda). http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Forgot about factories and already made droids? If i'm not mistaken wasn't the droids made in 10 seconds and they come fresh off the assembly line (Geonosis when R2 was flying)? It would just take a day to get a already made army up and then another day to send them into space. Plus you dont have to breed or feed em. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
chewieusma Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Well droids cost money. Wookies are essentially free, save for the cost of food and transit to the base of enslavement. Plus enslaving Wookies is definitely an ego boost for any imperial commander.
Popcorn2008 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Also, I can tell you now there werent enough existing droids to do the Death Star construction. Remember all CIS droids were shut down near the end of episode III. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Missing my point. If they make make so many mouse droids they can at least come up with a construction droids. They dont have to use old tech but 3CO or some other droid with arms. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
