EJM Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Just a few questions that came to my mind, can heroes join fleets?, if we want to have a hero in our fleet, do we have to have his transport?, cause' Darth Vader uses the lamnda class shuttle as transport, the same for Palpatine, and if this is so, how many heroes can we have on a ground and space battle?, all we want?, or just a few?... One question leads to another EaW is coming!

One question leads to another So far we know that some if not most heroes will have "their" ships. Boba will have his Slave 1, Vader will have his ISD..... Not sure what the Emperor would use. We have seen pictures with several units at once in an area, but this is probably something that will be balanced and at this time we do not know the exact number.
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Vader would also use his Tie Prototype. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
CrushProject Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Prototype? I thought the tie advanced was well beyond that phase at that point. I remember that there were only limited supplies of tie advanced (due to them being stolen by the warlord), but never-the-less would you really call it a prototype ship? I always thought of them as more in limited supply, then an actual prototype.... EDIT: tomato, tomAto really, just curious....
Stellar_Magic Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 To different ships man. Vader flies the Tie Advanced X1 Prototype, the Fighter you're thinking is the Tie Advanced X2 "Avenger" which didn't enter service until around the Empire Strikes Back. matt_pff Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 The tie advanced/avenger are pretty awesome in the fact that they have shields. I remember how annoying they would get dogfighting against them in X-Wing. Two shots for a Tie and you could move on but when you came across a tie Advanced you better have had an A-Wing to match its speed....
Teradyn_pff Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 That was the point you know. My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 lol but the TIE Defenders in X-wing alliance we're hell they were really the superiority fighters they were designed to be. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Teradyn_pff Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 The Tie Defenders are the F/A 18 of the modern military. Excellent fighters, but suitable to bomb run as well. The Tie Advanced fills the role of space superiority more directly. But all this is off topic since none of these will be in the game. Zer_Teron Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 TIE Defenders were the best fighters in Star War, the most powerful not the fastest but the best in every other catogory. An TIE Defender could kill a B-Wing in a one on one fight or any other Rebel or Imperial Fighter. Because of this it was expensive and required the best pilots to fly it. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I was thinking of the one in the Trailer and the movie but as you seen I cant remember the name of it. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
matt_pff Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Teradyn- "That was the point you know" yes i knew that was the point. theres no need to make an attempt to belittle someone like that. thats one thing I tend to notice with some of the members here...too much arrogance. sorry to the moderators for my post....just didn't like his comment. i didnt feel it was neccesary. Ghostly- Are you talking about the starfighter at the end of the trailer over Coruscant?
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 he probably is so that would mean it was the TIE Advanced X1 Prototype seen at the Death Star in ANH. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!

Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 ok glad i could clear that up (if i did, but it cant be the X2 Avenger. as its not in the time frame). http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
