On sw-eaw.de you can find the first view on the Upgrades in Empire at War. It can be found on this page: Upgrades in EaW

This are the Upgrades that I was able to see in the playable demo at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany this year. So it is not sure that I got all of them and it is not sure that all of them will be in the game at least. Maybe Petroglyph changed some of them.

Most Upgrades have three steps. Each step shows a plus-sign in the Icon.

Here is a list of all Upgrades. For the Icons look on our page: Upgrades in EaW

Thank you Junker, you are our savior in our time of need.

This helps me get a better idea of the game play.

thank you Junker now just make a topic for the pics.

unless it was you who gave use the pics about han, kyle and Emperor; which allowed me to make my Random info post so thank you very much that helped me a lot.

but if you got to build things do you see them being built or are they just materialised when the upgrade is finished?

can we get Pictures to go with the post please so we can see the symbols as well?

I updated my first post with the Icons and some pictures from the Games Convention on which you can see the Upgrade boxes on the left side.

but if you got to build things do you see them being built or are they just materialised when the upgrade is finished?

You simply click on the Upgrade you want to have for the next one. It take a bit time until the new Upgrade is "researched". It is like you bild a new unit. Maybe I will find a screen on which you can see the "Research-Status" of a Upgrade.

thank you Junker now just make a topic for the pics.

Thanks Junker,

I was reading up on the Imps on the sight (thanks to Google translator, i need to work on my German still) and i read up on the proton Torpedoes and it sounds like the bombers have a limited amount of ammo they can fire before they have to return to reload.

Proton torpedo: Capital ships and bombers can shoot proton torpedo on hostile goals(targets). While bombers can carry only a small number of it, the capital ships are equipped with a larger number of torpedoes. With a high speed they approach the goal and release themselves a large explosion in the goal.

Thank you for the time and effort you put it Junker. I can appreciate with English being a second language he amount extra you would have to put in. The info is very much appreciated.

I remember seeing these in tons of screenshots, but I always wondered what they meant. This is very useful to use against them to see what was going on in them.

The time between two shots of Proton Torpedos is longer than between shots of a laser cannon. Bomber can fire one or two torpedos at the same time while ships with torpedo pipes can launch some more. This is ment with the discription. ;) I hope I was able to help you. :) Otherwise ask again.

I think he is trying to get clarified his suspicion (sp?) on whether or not a bomber group would run out of torpedoes completely and not be able to fire any more until they go back to their carrier ship and reload. IMO this would not be the case given the type of game they are making.

Teradyn, That was my original thought, but ya i would not make much sense in an RTS. Thanks for the info tho Junker.

will Bombers have to Reload then? cause that doesnt make much sense in this game and will other Starfighters (like the X-wing) have Torpedoes because they are well know for having them.

I recall from my X-wing days (the lucas arts space simulator) the Tie Bomber taking more damage than either the Tie Fighter or Intercepter. They, did however, still tend to be easier to kill because they were slow, but not because they were flimsy.

You are correct. It is equipped with a bigger hull and thus can sustain more damage. However, since it's slow as you mentioned, it's a lot easier to hit it with lasers or concussion missiles. There are no shields, so it's even worse off than TIE Fighters.
