Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 there's a link on the official site called 'Learn to Play' will this be a link to the Demo when it's released. which reminds me unofficially it's around Mid-december still no sign of that demo. p.s. i know that it's only a rumour but unless that comes out soon i'm going to have to play cards for 2 weeks til x-mas so roll on the demo. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Popcorn2008 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 There is still plenty of time for the demo to be released. Dont get your hopes down. Besides it about a month and a half until the total release! Rejoice! http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator

Phantom_pff Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 it's called a "yamaclaus" any way, at the top of the site is says "downloads" that is most likely where it demo will be, the "learn to play" may be a link to buy a game guide.
Popcorn2008 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Or the learn to play link could be a link to download the demo, which may include a learn to play scenario. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
deriko Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 If you guys go to empireatwar.net, then click on demo, then click on download demo, it tells you what you can do on the demo and tells you you can download the demo for free, except that the link to do it isn't "Activavted".
The Relentless Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Are demos usually downloaded from the official website for free? If they are, the cool, 'cuz I've always been under the impression that you have to buy them from a store of something... I aint much of a PC player... Go Leafs go!
Popcorn2008 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 If you guys go to empireatwar.net, then click on demo, then click on download demo, it tells you what you can do on the demo and tells you you can download the demo for free, except that the link to do it isn't "Activavted".This is because Lucasfiles will be hosting the demo, as you can see from EaW.net. But we are still waiting for the demo like everyone else, that page is just a place holder as of now. Yes The Relentless demos are usually downloaded for free from the official website, or in the case a website willing to host the demo. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Siddus Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I'd say that demos are not downloaded from official websites. the demo aim is to hit as many people as possible so the demo is released on fansites, generalist gamers website, press etc etc. Finally, I'm pretty sure most of people don't download the demo on the official website
SirNuke Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I believe demos get released simultaneously on game websites [ex: fileplant, gamespot, ign, etc] and the offical site. Typically, however, the news gets to people through the game websites, so they download it there. I was able to download the AOE III demo from its offical site at 350kb/s, rather then waiting in a 500 person long line in fileplanet. Zing!
