Garbageben Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 This is embarrasing. I got Civ4, the Movies, and Shattered Union like 2 and a half weeks ago. Civ4 is the only game of those that I have played so far. Well in one week I'll have plenty of time to get into the movies as well and maybe I'll make some ok movies. http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png
Gen.Vader Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 hey ben, ill take the movies offa ya bu7t i really want the movies, you start in the 1920s with limited funds, sets, and costumes, but as the years go by you can make them larger and better and you can also research new things like technicolor or other filming developments like some CG stuff. as for variety, i heard that there are like millions of diffrent variants of combos to the sets, costumes, and props.also your movie could be 4 hours long, or just 2, and thats a aspect i really like. the only con that i have heard is that they dont blend the 2 aspects of management and moviemakin enough and it ends up as playing 2 diffrent games. I've have you now - Lord Vader
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 9, 2005 Author Posted December 9, 2005 Well seems like you will be restricted in story mode but can you free mode? Well I mean I know you can make videos but can you do it freely with no budget costs interferring? -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
Nevets Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Well seems like you will be restricted in story mode but can you free mode? Well I mean I know you can make videos but can you do it freely with no budget costs interferring? From what I have heard you can, there is a "sandbox" mode that allows you to play around with things freely.
Gen.Vader Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 okay, here is the scoop on the very good game. you have a story mode and sandbox mode, but you are restricted in the sandbox mode bty what you have unlocked in the story mode! also, the movies you make are interesting, you have scriptwriters write a script, then you cast a director, actor(s), crew, and a extra if need be. then after the casting is done and they are done reheaarsing, then they go to thier sets to cast the movie. after casting the scenes, you release the movie and your done! but many factors play into the audiences approval. one, is if the actors/director are in a happy mood, that boosts the movie. also, if the actor/director have experience in the genre (horror, action, comedy, etc.) it boosts the movie also, if they ahve a high star rating then its even better lastly, if the audience is intrested in the genre, that will also boost your ratings this and more makes the game great, you get a few cool sets, like a bombed out WW2 scene, and costumes! i had gorilla costumes and WW1 gear! anywho, off to the movies! I've have you now - Lord Vader
