Darth Tyrant Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Why the rebels have more heroes than imperials?, so far imperials have 10 and rebels have from 13 to 15 heroes. They can add Thrawn, daala, and others from the 12 Grand Admirals like Tiguelinus, Batch, Takel, Gruner, or Pitta.
The Relentless Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Why is this thread in the Prewievs and Screenshots-section too? One of these has to be deleted immetiadly, or else we're gonna have a split topic on our hands. I already replied to the other one. Go Leafs go!
Ghostly_Substance Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Petro isn't adding EU but what fits the timeline the game is set in. Well then all I can say is that Rebellion had more heroes since they were more focused on survival. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png

I already replied to the other one. Sorry, when I posted on the screenshot forums I thought I was on general discussion. Petro isn't adding EU but what fits the timeline the game is set in. Well then all I can say is that Rebellion had more heroes since they were more focused on survival. The Empire have enough heores to make it even, so I dont see the harm on making an even number of heroes on both sides. Here is a list of imperial heroes that are not on the list: 1) Captain Needa 2) Admiral Ozzel 3) Admiral Daala 4) Moff Jerjerod 5) Baron Soontir Fel 6) The Circle of the 12 Grand Admirals: a) Grand Admiral Batch b) Grand Admiral Declann c) Grand Admiral Grant d) Grand Admiral Grunger e) Grand Admiral II-Raz f) Grand Admiral Makati g) Grand Admiral Pitta h) Grand Admiral Syn i) Grand Admiral Takel j) Grand Admiral Teshik k) Grand Admiral Tigellinus l) Grand Admiral Zaarin Ps: During New Year Fete Week two years before the Battle of Yavin, Emperor Palpatine created the rank of Grand Admiral and promoted twelve of his top servants to the position. Reporting directly to Palpatine himself, they were to be the zenith of the Imperial Navy rank structure, and there could be no more than twelve of them at any one time. However, one of them (Zaarin) committed treason, and in his place the infamous Thrawn finally gained official recognition as Grand Admiral, the thirteenth to hold the rank. Later, long after the death of Palpatine, Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's position as leader of the Imperial Remnant military was recognized with a promotion to this rank, thus becoming the last Grand Admiral. There are more, but those are more familiar to people that have read the novels
Popcorn2008 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 It's still early, and we still dont know all the heroes that are going to be in the game. For example they withheld Luke from the website so who else could they be hiding? I dont mind un-even heroes, it may be due to balancing issues. Just as long as there are heroes im happy. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator

Popcorn2008 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Please double check your list there Plokoon, Kyle Katarn is a confirmed hero. plokoon9619 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I know but at this time he should be a imperial.
Teradyn_pff Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Are you sure? The timeline is only a couple of years before ANH and the rebels already had the plans that he captured at the beginning of the movie. My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Popcorn2008 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I dont think Kyle steals the plans for the Death Star until at least a few months before A New Hope. I dont think a real timeline was given in Dark Forces. EaW takes place I believe 2-3 years before ANH and runs to the Battle of Yavin. So Kyle would at least convert to the Rebel Alliance during EaW. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
plokoon9619 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Dark Forces aint just a game there were books and even audio cassetes for it.
Nevets Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 I think Thrawn (Captain at this time) should definitely be in the game. I think he is the second most popular EU character (Mara is first). I even believe he is a more well know imperial character than even Veers.

SWG had Thrawn sitting on Naboo. Continuity? Sorry, I don't think so. As for Kyle Katarn, I also wish he would be an Imperial character with a possibility of defection (after his father is killed..hehe) .
Popcorn2008 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 It would be a cool feature of EaW to allow hero defection. Maybe for select heros though, such as Kyle. It would make for intereasting gameplay. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator

But as it is sounding now, looks like once you get that character thats it, they stay like that the rest of the game. I would really like content like this in a mod or an expansion tho.
Popcorn2008 Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 You know technically Kyle wasnt ever really part of the Rebellion. He was really a mercinary for hire, even though he "favored" the rebellion. So technically he should work for the highest paying bidder. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator

He did a bunch of missions for the Rebel Alliance, I think that qualifies him as a Rebel.

Because of his anger of them killing his father. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator

After Thrawn killing Zaarin, Palpatine reward him, making him the #13 Grand Admiral. It would be a cool feature of EaW to allow hero defection. Maybe for select heros though, such as Kyle. It would make for intereasting gameplay. Sounds cool, but they wont allow that, because if a few imperial heroes defect to the rebellion, they will have to allow rebel heroes to defect to the empire.

You're so totally right! Remember that one time that Rajok defected to the Empire...? Oh wait, that never happened! The only people "defecting" to the Empire were spies from the start!

TIE Fighter (the game) started right after the Battle of Hoth, which is 3 years after ANH. So it's not too far strecthed to think he would be a Captain around the time of ANH. http://www.lfnetwork.com/images/lfnlinker.gifStar Wars: Empire at War.Net Moderator&SWGalaxies Moderator Co-Leader of The Affiliates! -A-- What we do in life, echoes in eternity!- May the pants be with you!
Dorkthehunter Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 No one except the Emperor knew about Grand Admiral Thrawn! He was in the Unknown Regions at this time. He should not be in the game.
