Can the AI attack you on the galactic map?

I think that once someone attacks, if it's either you or computer, it brings you both to that battle to play out. I'm almost positive the computer can attack you. If they couldn't, there would be no way they could win.

Petroglyph is populated by people who made the Command & Conquer games, if these guys can't realise that you need superb AI in an RTS then the gaming industry is truly doomed

It's a certainty the AI will attack you, whether it attacks intelligently, remains to be seen...

Besides, there is multiplayer galactic conquest :D

so if you only have 1 friend thats into RTS or Star Wars, you should be set.

uh... have you ever played any total war?? the AI attacked you, and it did it well. total war is similar, and i am confident in the abilities of all the staff at Petroglyph. I am sure that can program a more than competent AI.

Although on the other hand Rebellion was quite easy, even on the hardest difficulty.

So i guess it is kinda up in the air, but from what i've seen it should be fine. we shouldn't criticize until it's out.

and then hope it gets modded/patched if it sucks.

I think the fear is that the AI required to properly execute a galactic level strategy will be well beyond what we normally see in RTSs. This fear is well grounded because even if the AI is super hard on hardest level, does it mean it is smart or is it just taking advantage of your 1 at a time limits as a human vs the all at once of the computer? But even this can be surmounted by learning its patterns. Learning AI is something needed in this game. I am quite curious as to how they will build this portion of the game, seeing that they have all the extra time what with the not needing to put in the SSD, B-Wing, Tie-Interceptor, etc. :P Sorry, couldn't help it.

I've got to agree with Teradyn, they are omitting a lot of features content-wise and gameplay-wise, so they better have some time to write good quality AI ;). I expect the AI to be smart, to draw me into false attacks, to try to hit me where I'm weakest, and to counter-attack with a vengeance.

I've asked the Legacy modders what they think about hte expected AI. I was told that although they don't know what to expect, but they will do their best to make it tough. So if EaW turns out too easy, there's always that option.

Maybe they should just make a huge AI difference between mode, so Easy is easy to beat AI, Medium is much harder but still winnable, Hard would be the bone shattering Juggernaut that is the AI making you use all your skills just to stay alive against your opponent

Being stabbed by a Noghri knife isn't really a fluke, it's assassination!

That would be near impossible also. Would it be an Imperial AI only?

Protecting the world from those who have an IQ higher than 30! Huzzah!

Trust me...I'm a professional.
