What would you do at the start of the galactic conquest?

Working under the assumption that some planets aren't going to be controlled by either faction at the outset of the game, I would try to quickly build enough ships and ground equipment to conquer some planets that will immediately give me an advantage (ie faster build times, more money faster, new tech, etc).

The priority for me would probably be scouting. Find as many worlds nearby and then go for whichever is the most promising. At the same time, I might use that same scout in an attempt to find the enemy's early base.

This might leave me with very few ships and many planets though, so I'd have to strike a balance. It's hard to say what my initial moves are until I've experimented with the game to find something that works.

Conquer a few unprotected worlds to establish strong borders and get enough extra resources. A good beggining must always be agressive. After its just that infite cycle of conquer, develop, develop and conquer, ya know.

Scounting usually involves a great waste of time that you should spend on develloping your power. Tough it might seem useful, believe me, its a waste of time 'cause you'll end up by scounting while conquering worlds since expanding your borders actually counts like scounting. Its like building a wall. and dont know what's on the other side. If you choose to travel to the other side without building a wall you might probably find something that you dont have protection against since you forgot to build the wall :P. However, if you build the wall before going outside you can always hide behind the wall if something scary is lurking out there.

I think that scouting is a very beneficial action in any game. It is both a luxury for a weak regime, and a benefit for a strong regime. The idea of allowing your military to have all the info about the enemy's economy, military, and diplomatic pursuits can offer your military a better intel pool which will allow you to select the weakest yet most beneficial planets to attack.

As I will play as the rebels I would first get a sizable Fighter Fleet around my major planets. Maybe with a few Corellian Corvettes at the Shipyards and a Capital Ship.

I will slowly expand. I wouldn't want to spread myself too thinly. I learned that from playing Rebellion as a Kid.

I would ensure that each planet had a sizable Garrison before moving on to the next one.

I agree with Fosh. I don't want to get spread thin because then I can't defend anything. One of the Rebellion's strongest attributes are her fighters and once I've researched or stolen the X-Wing, I'll really get into it with the Empire.

Once I've got my fighters ready I'll arm my fleet with some capital cruisers and seek out strange new worlds, boldly go where ... oops, wrong one. I'll bring peace and order to the galaxy through the destruction of evil.

hmm

ill have a circular strategy, like pullin all my forces into my center planet of the universe of power, then start expanding out in a circle, i might lose a few planets here or there, but in the ned ill win. or.....

i will scout out i\until i find my enemys base and then build a wall agianst them so they cant expand or ace annihilation

I've have you now - Lord Vader
