Diplomacy

Is any kind of diplomacy in the game?

or the only way of "capturing a planet is using military force...

 

I'm talking about neutral planets with population

in rebellion you could send the emperor or darth vader (among others) to "convert" that neutral planet to your side.

I sure hope there is diplomacy. That would make alot of sense, it was there in Rebellion and it was how you took control of most of your planets. Diplomacy is great it saves troops and money, and the end product is the same if not better.

I think it is. More of "complete a mission" than diplomacy. I think someone said that if you completed a mission (like escorting bacta to a plagued planet or liberating one planets prisoners) they might join you or give you support.

Originally yes, thankfully it was removed because it has been answered.

 

There will be diplomacy to a certain point in the game, like noian said. One thing that was mentioned by (it think Brett) was that a planet might be troubled by pirates and if you defeat the pirates the planet will join you.

I can see those in the Campaign mode...but what about Conquest or mulitiplayer Conquest...no one is going to want to do those missions when they're playing online, which makes me think that in Conquest there won't be any neutral planets or you just need to garrison troops on them

i hope so cause it would really annoy some players when they get the message your planet has just been destroyed. by that really annoying womans voice (that one thats used 4 all games).

Whats wrong with a womans voice for nerdy EAW players ? :twisted: If the planet is destroyed its destroyed.

 

Didn't the deathstar help with diplomacy since once I destroyed one planet in Rebellion and BAM that sector came under my control.

theres nothing wrong its just they generally pick an annoying voice that your forced to listen to and studies have shown that people listen to womens voices more. (Except if its a mum or wifes voice).

That all goes back to the mother's voice in the womb thing and such. Anyway, you might want to make sure you weren't playing a modified version, GS. For my experience, using the Death Star in any system at all, you got major hits on every planet in the game in terms of popularity.

yeah true, but i still think that its annoying sometimes cause its like your base is under attack. i know just shut the f**k up and let me sort it out!

and the GPS Systems in cars they have that womans voice that tries to get you to make a u-turn when your going the right way!

in the answers he doesn't really meantion Diplomacy but it does say that Assassination is possible over capturing a planet.

War is diplomacy by other means. I think that in this game, sending a unit to raise a planet's loyalty to you will not be a mechanic that even exists. There are no loyalty values for the planets. The bars we thought were popularity are actually build slots.

Nobody needs diplomacy! Those Rebel scum don't want to negotiate, they're just terrorists who want to destroy the peace and oder of this grand Empire. Although, I would be happy to enter "aggressive negotiations" with them. :twisted:

 

Lol j/k :lol: , but I do think that it is dissapointing for them not to include diplomacy, but I think we can live without it until a future expansion pack. :wink:
