Guest Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 at least when you zoom in on the SD's you should be able to see each turret
Zer_Teron Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 That would be a good idea, many games had that option where you could set a distance from where you could see it or you could set the distance where it becomes less detailed. Some games just made them invisible, but it usually doesnt matter much since in those games its really hard to get close enough to discern the individual turrets from the hull without crashing or being destroyed. Still i think the big turrets that some pictures depict on the sides of the ISDs looks un-star wars like, the pictures without them have a better feel. JanGaarni Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I hate these people. The ISD did not have big giant turrets on each side of its superstructure. It had 100 Heavy Turbolasers scattered around the hull, 50 of them in tight 5 Laser Batteries, also 20 Ion cannons scattered The Model used in the films disagrees with youhttp://img459.imageshack.us/img459/3272/isdguns10jo.th.gif This is from the ISD MKII, four heavy turbolaser turrets with 8 guns each. These are the most powerfull weapons on the ISDII.64 guns actually There are 4 large turretbases on either sides which acts like a huge pivot, each having 2 turrets again which svivel independently (to a degree), which are equipped with 4 barrels, equaling to 64 guns. 4 x 2 = 8 large turretbases8 x 2 = 16 turrets16 x 4 = 64 guns (barrels) http://www.lfnetwork.com/images/lfnlinker.gifStar Wars: Empire at War.Net Moderator&SWGalaxies Moderator Co-Leader of The Affiliates! -A-- What we do in life, echoes in eternity!- May the pants be with you!
Nightmarenny Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Thats the mark two. The Mk. 1 had only two guns on the turret
Grey Jedi Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Thats the mark two. The Mk. 1 had only two guns on the turret Wasn't it four per turbolaser turret and only the ion turret had two?
JanGaarni Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 No Ion cannons on the mkII. The Heavy Ion Cannons that was on the mkI was replaced with the new Heavy Turbolaser batteries that was used on the mkII. On the mkI the turrets are huge dual barreled weapons emplacements. On the mkII they are replaced with 4 huge pivots with 2 turrets on each, with each turret having 4 guns each. Think WWII heavy turrets on the battleships with 4 barrels, but each turret mounted on a huge pivot base again. http://www.lfnetwork.com/images/lfnlinker.gifStar Wars: Empire at War.Net Moderator&SWGalaxies Moderator Co-Leader of The Affiliates! -A-- What we do in life, echoes in eternity!- May the pants be with you!
Hadoken13 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 all of these pictures proving the isd 1 2 and 3's guns are at warlords. and at the star wars web page.....it isn't really much of a disscusion. but the isd has too many guns for them all to be represented we need a ballance between the 1 laser that represented all the isd's guns in rebellion and how many there really are though. this is too complicated i pitty you petro
