RogueCommander Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 If it is only ground based then LEC should be informed to correct the information on the site. Since on there it shows that there is a space and ground version of both.
Guest JediIgor Posted November 27, 2005 Posted November 27, 2005 Hmmm... I bet that that means that it is a type of Hypervelocity or Ion cannon that can be put in space maybe... or maybe they can fire at the ground? Thats a long shot though. These are ground based weapons used as planetary defense against space ships. Remember Battle of Hoth? Ion Cannons firing at Cap ships. That is what these two weapons do. Nothing more. So I guess you won't be able to build Golan stations?
Foshjedi2004 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 So they are just wiping out one of Coruscant's Main defenses since the Birth of the Empire are they?? Modding time..... http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Logain Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 they cant not have golan's thats just not cool
Zer_Teron Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Then whats the [space] over a second name for on the Website Delphi http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Delphi-PG Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Then whats the [space] over a second name for on the Website Delphi Because that is where this super weapon is actually used (fired). Delphi-PGGame Designer/Community Rephttp://www.petroglyphgames.com
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 ok thanks Delphi. i thought that the hypervelocity gun can be used in space as well. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Popcorn2008 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Then whats the [space] over a second name for on the Website Delphi Because that is where this super weapon is actually used (fired).Okay that makes sense. They just listed it twice on their website, as it is also under the coming soon section. That was what got me confused, I thought there were two of the same thing. Also, just a side note: Delphi you and petro have done an excellent job on this game! Just felt the need to reassure you, you seem to be a little down at some of the complaining lately. http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg> Petroglyph Forums Moderator> LucasForums Moderator
Teradyn_pff Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Then whats the [space] over a second name for on the Website Delphi Because that is where this super weapon is actually used (fired). I think the confusion centers around the fact that in the list, there is: Hypervelocity Gun - which has a movie showing a space map where it is used to destroy a space station. and Hypervelocity Gun [space] - which is in the coming soon part of the list which would be extremely redundant seeing as this has been already shown used in space. My guess is that maybe the [space] version is the one that should have been in the top section with the video and the other one should say [Ground] and be a video that includes the actual ground model during a ground map. (not sure how it would fire while the ground map is going on, but no reason it shouldn't since the ships that are orbiting the planet and dropping troops are still targets) My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Admrial Joyce Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 How long does it take to recharge? http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4305/cap2073na.pngTime to do some damage.
Foshjedi2004 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 So Far we have only seen the HV Gun in the Video on the LEC website. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Megajames2 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 And a screenshot on the french website metions it.
Foshjedi2004 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Thats a Screen of the Video!!! http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Gen.Vader Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 i think these guns pose a more serious question.... if they can be stationed in space, cant they (in sufficent numbers) be powerful enough to destroy the Deathstar? and one question i have never heard the answer of is that does the Deathstar ever come onto the map? or is there just the timer and then a movie? and if you had the deathstar and it never came onto the map, how could the opposing force attack it? I've have you now - Lord Vader
Phantom_pff Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 In the E3 video the DS actually was brought onto the map and once it was clace enough it destroind the planet, so ya it will be brought onto the map.
Zer_Teron Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Delphi stated that there is no Space Based Ion Cannon or Hypervelocity Gun. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/3488/zersigef1.jpg
Gen.Vader Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Then whats the [space] over a second name for on the Website Delphi Because that is where this super weapon is actually used (fired). actually he stated quite the opposite, there are ground and space guns too, no one would take the guns away from coruscant! no way! I've have you now - Lord Vader
Stellar_Magic Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Ion Cannons and Hyper guns are built only on planets. They will not have a variation that can be built in space. It would make no sense since the weapons are designed to fire at space based objects. Sorry man, there aren't spaced based versions. Sergeant Bob Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 What Delphi was trying to say is that they are ground based but are only employed against orbital targets. So the (Space) that we see probabl just denotes what the preview of it is.
Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 yeah he did just say that there would be no Space-based versions of the Hypergun and the magnagun and the ION cannon, but as we've seen there are space based guns like the missile platform. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!

Ghostly_Substance Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Well if you count the Death Star then you could have a massive gun/cannon of some sort. Well its a massive strong powered but weak spacestation Still has a cannon stuck on it but whatever you'll classify that as. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png
