Did anyone else notice that the gravity well domes on the Interdictor Cruiser appear to be hardpoints? I watched the ISD clip on the site and on the Interdictor there were four smoking black craters on its surface where the domes are (this was before it was destroyed of course).

Yes, I did. so all you have to do is take out the gravity wells, not necessarily have to destroy the whole ship, even though I don't know who would do that...

The ship was almost already destroyed when its gravity well generators were destroyed, so why not let your bombers go on one more run and destroy the thing? If you don't, it will be fixed by the next battle, so might as well do as much damage as possible!

if you have a fleet of ISDs coming at you and you only have a few corvets and a MC Cruiser, i would just hit the hard points and run

He was referencing facing an Interdictor cruiser and a large fleet of ISD's. You would rather go for the gravity projector dome hardpoints on the interdictor and run (because you can't while they are still there).
