ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)

A pair of lucky turkeys will receive the traditional Thanksgiving pardon from President George W. Bush on the White House lawn Tuesday and then fly - in style, mind you - to Disneyland.

Following the ceremony, the 15.75-kilogram National Turkey and its alternate will be given a police escort to a Washington-area airport, placed in first-class airplane seats and be whisked off to sunny southern California.

They'll be part of Disneyland's holiday display and serve as honorary Grand Marshals for the theme park's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, according to the White House website.

Afterward, they'll spend the rest of their lives at a Disneyland ranch.

National Thanksgiving turkeys and their alternates normally retire at a farm in Virginia.
