Samheyn Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 The discovery of the Katana Fleet is a post-EPIV event. Timeline goes from the end of EPIII to the end of EPIV... so there is no room for a "katana-discovery-event" or something similar because the Katana Fleet recently disappeared in that time. @vader89 Old doesn't always mean that these ships aren't worth using them. The Dreadnoughts have some design flaws ( weak power generators, massive need for crew ) but even if a dreadnought might not be able to go head-on-head with a mon cal or even a star destroyer it might be able to crush a nebulon-b or some other frigate-class vessels

Of course they also had GAThrawn....I suppose you are going to mod in cloning systems and the Imperials will have an ultimate super force of Vaders and Palpatines and Fels! So...? you dont even need that, just basic star wars knowledge! the katana fleet was a long lost fleet that was sent out during the clone wars, with hundreds of dreadnaughts. then thrawn found them post EP4 and came back and almost wiped out all of the republic. These dreadnoughts had crews of 2,000 instead of something like 16,000. About ten years before the clone wars(according to dark force rising) it was lost. The story is that the crewers were infected with a hive virus and the crew of the Katana made a blind jump into deep space and brought the rest of the fleet with it to protect other planets. It was explained that back then there was no cure, but it can be cured with Bacta which wasn't around then.

If GA Thrawn hadnt been using clones it would have taken years for half of them to be refitted.
