Nevets
Well, I can see how SWBF2 was somewhat fun! You have to try and rationalize yourself for buying the game ... I mean be realistic, I have bought and played Far Cry, Half Life 2, F.E.A.R, just to mention and few, and the graphics are 10 times better! Just face it they took the xbox version (733 Pentium, 64 Meg G-Force 2) and copied it to PC. They didnt' buff up the graphics one bit! If I wanted to play something that crappy I would install Solider of Fortune or something from the late 1990's. Also, the figther controls were horrible! I could really go on for hours!!! So, I'll stick with the games that have good game play and graphics and try to salvage what money I wasted on SWBF2! I didn't buy it, I got it as a gift, so I dob't need to rationalize anything I would have bought it eventually anyway. Its a fun Star Wars game, just what I was looking for while waiting for EAW, plus I figured I would get a little more use out of my PS2 before it becomes obsolete. Eduardo
Well, I liked BFII, It's very fun, and the graphics depends on the console, the graphics of the Xbox version are way better than the Ps2, School Wars!!! Command your Forces! Crush the School!!!
BigInc
Well I am talking about the PC Version anyway! The PS2 & XBOX versions are probably fine, however, PC Games have higher expectations in this situation because the graphic potiental between XBOX, PS2, GC are crap compared to modern PC's. So, I would expect the PC version to be better, however, if you play the PC version it is crap, compared to other PC games on the market.
Samheyn
Even on the PC BF2 is a very funny game.. and I don't think it is much worse compared to games like Battlefield 2.. you have to keep in mind that it's always harder to do a good job on graphics for a sci-fi or fantasy game than just doing a semi-realistic game based on modern combat. And concerning the games dynamics: Yes, there are some major flaws... some of the missions are rather frustrating because of the not-so-well balanced weaponry. But in the end it is still a lot of fun and worth playing

SirNuke
For a game that is probably going to go gold in a little more than two months, I would think they would be really trying to create a buzz. In my opinion, Empire At War has the potential of becoming a new gold standard in the RTS field, attracting the type of fan base where it gets played 5 years down the road (such as starcraft). An outsider, however, would never guess that empire at war might be that type of game. In particular, there has only been one offical ingame movie, compared to the 8 or so that were released by roughly this time for battlefront 2. Also compare it to the ungodly amount that civIV had released by roughly this time (and civIV was apparently really rushed to get competed in time, partially hence why it has trouble with the majority of ATI video cards). (going gold means you stop making changes to the game [or any computer program] so you can start making the cds [and for most companies, start working on patch 1.01]) I can't speak about the released information for any games (like specific these are the units, etc) as this has been the closest that I have followed a game since.... possibly C&C Red Alert 2. Regardless, it seems to me that Lucas Art's marketing department efforts are a bit lacking. Zing!
Bryant_pff
I believe the information released is ok seeing that its still a few more months until the release. Also maybe im wrong, but shouldnt a wealth of information be released with the demo? Admrial Joyce
The reason there is no good quality discussions is becuase there is no new info to disscuss about. Say if we get info on a certain feature or unit. We get threads talking about how it works, how to defeat it and to use it. At the moment we are being left in the dark with info so there is nothing good to disscus about. Damn. This is the secound game that i have been left in the dark with. The first one being Zelda TP. http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4305/cap2073na.pngTime to do some damage.
Sparky
Well take comfort in knowing that the official FAQ, Gameplay FAQ, and Official Unit List is somewhere around the corner. And hopefully they will come out with another Diary. And if you think about it, if you ran the company would you want to advertise info about a new game when you had a game the just came out...why would you want to put a reason in someone's head not to buy the game so the could wait to buy this one... Because they are two different games that appeal to two different audiences? I would rather advertise to those RTS players that have to make a choice between games to say "hey you out there getting Civ 4 and AOE3, wait a couple months for EAW"
Infinite_Xero
We do not have enough information, plain and simple. All topics have been exhausted... so hopefully some new info comes out soon, or this will become an Off Topic forum I would rather advertise to those RTS players that have to make a choice between games to say "hey you out there getting Civ 4 and AOE3, wait a couple months for EAW" Exactly! Since the genre is different, it can't have too much effect on the consumer base But i've noticed just how much BFII has been advertised, here in Australia, ads for games are rare, or rather were rare. Halo 2 got a HUGE ad campaign, even here (we're not considered to be a very good market for gaming, its the reason we have to wait up to a month to get a new realease game) i saw ads for Hitman 3 in the moviesand Call of Duty for the consoles, and Call of Duty 2, but none of those comapre to the pluggin BFII has received loli can't watch TV (cable TV) for an hour without seeing an ad for BFII lol now, the real Star Wars fans will know about EaW, but the average gaming public, who might think "my god! its like a dream come true!"might not know about it Where am i going with this part of the post? I have no idea, i've kinda started ranting, but the point is:While it shouldn't effect the consumer base, it can and that every bit of publicity helps. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese!
Naja
I believe the information released is ok seeing that its still a few more months until the release. Also maybe im wrong, but shouldnt a wealth of information be released with the demo? Yes, but that still is not sufficient exposure. After all, a demo isn't going to spread much information to people if the game's existence isn't even promoted in the first place.
Nevets
If they were smart they would have released a ton of information on the same days that AOE 3 and Civ 4. Hell, 360 is releasing Halo3 the same day PS3 comes out, it is simple marketing.
Moriarty101
I totally agree with you Teradyn the post quallity has drop dramatically in the last month. I am not here to bash anyone but the one liner post really get irritating(you know who you are). This is a discussion forum the spamming is starting to get out of hand. Spelling Spelling Spelling I know some people have a hard time with english so its understandable that some things get misspelled. But when I see that your from an english speaking country there is no excuse. Sometimes things get misread or just don't understand what you are trying to get at. Take your time I'll read my post a few times and edit them before submitting them. Another thing is threads getting way off topic just look at this one for example. This is still one of the greatest forums just more info is needed to keep things going, you can only beat a dead horse for so long. Until the demo comes out I think things are going to get alittle dry. Maybe Petro you could put a little pressure on LA to start releasing some much needed info. Keep up the great work! Swiftdraw
I agree on this for general discussion, but asking people not to post is sort of like asking it not to rain in the rain forest. I personally gave up on the general discussion forum and mainly lurk in the games section and come here every so often.
