If it is as you say with healing, take fast fighters and support ships with bombers, cause a lot of damage, leave, and then come back with a real fleet and destroy them! As a fan of both, I know what it's like being stuck at one end of the map or on the other end of the world and have to go all the way back to base where your repair yards are, or to that stupid 1 city that can repair your advanced units( You RTW fans know what i'm talking about). there better be some level of self-repair or at least a lower level station can at least repair ships if not build them.
