Garbageben Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Does anyone know if there are actual novels for the Dark Empire series? All I can find are the Dark Horse comic ones. Oh yeah. Anyone who says ships get phased out quickly look at the cover of this Dark Empire book. http://a1204.g.akamai.net/7/1204/1401/04061114011/images.barnesandnoble.com/images/7870000/7870203.jpg To the left of Luke's head is an Acclamator. http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png
Foshjedi2004 Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 There are a few Graphic Novels I think. Look at Amazon. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Naja Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Mehh, don't speak too soon. The Dark Empire books were written in the early 90's, way before the prequel trilogy.
Stellar_Magic Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Maybe they stole the Acclamator from Dark Empire... AT-AP Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 The comic/novel DE is from the early 90s, that cover is from 2003 or 2004, IIRC. It's a nice tie-in with the PT, only wish they had gotten an artist who could draw things proportionally. Just look at that bloated command-tower! Incidently, in the first part of DE I, there's a ship in the Byss fleet that looks like a Venator with extra cargo space behind the command-tower: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/Venator-Byss.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/StarCruiser.jpg
Vader89 Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 Thats an awesome drawing though... http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/theairsniper/TAS-Userbar.jpghttp://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/Sharpshooter89720.pngYou Don't Know the Power of the Dark Side!Click for an EaW Countdown Timer!

Stellar_Magic Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 It's evil Luke, what can you say? Naja Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 He probably built the lightsaber while he was Palpatine's apprentice.
Garbageben Posted November 21, 2005 Author Posted November 21, 2005 Actually I'll give you guys the real reason for the lightsaber. For some reason that picture of the cover has a weird colored lightsaber, but on the cover of the actual book (that I own) Luke has his green lightsaber. I guess it's just some discoloration thing or something. Here's the cover on my book:http://images.darkhorse.com/darkhorse/downloads/desktops/swdarkempire1/swdarkempire1_400.jpg http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/sh/type/0/garbageben.png
Guest JediIgor Posted November 21, 2005 Posted November 21, 2005 Garbageben, it's not a discoloration, those are simply different versions of a similar looking picture. Just look at the planet, the bottom one has craters, the top one doesn't.
AT-AP Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I like that the cover-artist made the Eclipse's superlaser more phallic and enlarged than in the actual story. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/StarCruiser.jpg
Nevets Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 I like that the cover-artist made the Eclipse's superlaser more phallic and enlarged than in the actual story. Are you saying the emperor was trying to compensate for something?
