So far isn't it a bit one sided??

 

 

As R2 and 3P0 are in that MUST mean that either Bail is in or Leia and the Tantive IV!!

 

So, there is a massive unbalanced force there. The Rebels have a load more people.

 

The Imperials could add in the SSD as a Hero unit(oh wait its not there!! :( ), Lord Hethrir, Loads of EU Dark Jedi, Thrawn, Piett, Covell, IG88, Garindan. The List goes on and on!!

 

The Rebels then have double that the Imps could have. Jan Dodonna could be added with no problem as could Corran Horn and more of teh Jedi like Vima Da Boda and Morgan Katarn.

No, the Rebels need to have more heroes. This isn't a game where both sides are identical, the Imperials are filthy rich, the Rebels have a lot of heroes and they rely on spying and ambushing, remember?

MY hash is that the Rebel Heroes could be TOO powerfull. Look at DoW. The Force Commander and Librarians can take on squads and not be killed. My F.C. in the demo destroyed all of the enemy. He DIDN'T die!!! He was Far too powerfull!!

My problem is that the Rebels could end up with a LARGE number of VERY powerfull characters. Luke and Kyle, if they become Jedi in the game will be unstoppable!!

The heroes being too dominating would in it self ruin the whole "massive war for the Star Wars galaxy"-thing, if they'd just slaughter everyone. If heroes aren't too crushing, I'll have no problem with a high number of them.

If they aren't too powerful,I will have no problem with them coming back.

i think heros are cool but to an extent. Like having more than one hero per battle is what ruins it more on the battle field. I would more like to just be able to use them to do missions and command like in rebellion.

Personally ill keep mine Hero non-respawnable, if i dont like that particular hero then ill make sure he runs into a few Rebel tanks during an attack

How are heroes stupid? Maybe if they are over powered it would be, but in theory they sounds really cool. I mean whats a star wars game without darth or luke? And being able to control the characters and not just the units makes me feel like I am really controlling the star wars universe.

 

(I just wish they were kill able)

 

Plus heroes in Rebellion really made the game for me.

Well I do see some reasoning there. Since Hero's can't be killed and there are many of them chances are high that Mid-game or End-game there will be multiple hero's dominating the battlefield. Which IMO would just start killing off gameplay. The main issue I have is they can't be killed. Which means even if you use the Deathstar and blow up the planet the hero was on the hero somehow comes back which is really dumb.....

Don't forget what happened when they tried to balance heroes in SWGB, they just made many pointless heroes for the rebels and empire...;)

I'd like to see heroes have the kill rate of a regular unit, but with the hitpoints of a madman. So if you use them offensively, they shouldn't much more damage.

 

Think Generals in Medieval: Total War. They were called "Jedi generals" for a reason ;).

Just think of it this way... hero's aren't all equal! For example, if everything is sane, Kyle, Chewie, Han, the untrained Luke, and Mon Mothma could all easily be fragged by the Emperor (imagines Mon Mothma trying to kill Palpatine by overloading him with diplomatic work). Obviously Palpy won't be THAT strong, but just to give you the general idea: the two Sith would probably be nastily stronger then most of the Rebel heros, except Yoda and maybe Obi-Wan.

 

One that interests me is this "Accuser". What is it/he/she? I assume it's a ship, as that doesn't sound like a person's name, but you never know. Any details on it?

Interesting, thanks! Do we know much about its in-game capacities, fighter complement, etc? If it will be good against capital ships, does that mean it has a substantial bonus against them, or just that its weapons to mad damage?

I remember seeing The Accuser in one screen, and it said something like this: "good against capital ships, vulnerable to bombers." I think that's the only thing we kno about it in this game. Oh, and it has equal combat power as a normal ISD.

Guys forgetting that theres 40+ planets to capture? They wouldn't all be in your attacking force so you'll have 1 or 2 heroes goin to each different planet and couple at your homebase if Rebels chose where to start off. Well if they're overpowering Juggernaught or some fast figuring out fan will post up how to make heroes less dominating and also when heroes die to stay dead.

Well there is nothing stopping you from having all your heros in one place I dont think. Seems like we have seen somes images with a bunch of heros at once. After watcing the videos of vader destroy tanks and tons of jawas, i am a bit scared. Could Vader, Palp, and a handful of other heros take out an entire base fairly easily? And do heros combat bonuses effect other heros? That would be really messed up :(

That Avaris is why people are being apprehensive about heroes. They can't die so you'll probably meet the same hero multiple times, being so powerful I would not be surprised if a small group of heroes attacked a base and destroyed it. Im interested how this will get balanced. So far it looks like the most horrifying battle wil be the last one since all your oponents heroes will be at one place.

Trying to manage 10+ heros and all their special abilities seems like a nightmare :( Maybe heros have an auto button so you dont have to keep telling vader to force crush tank by tank. Though that route seems bad too i guess...

If heroes have bonuses on certain planets the player might leave them there to get as much advantage over the other player as possible. If that planet is blown up by the Empire or someones modded in Rebel counterpart then the hero could be bought back into the Rebels homeplanet? Hero might then fight its way to a similar planet to get as much advantage there. Or just 1 or 2 on the planets you want protected and heroes are sometimes a great way to protect planets.

 

Well if heroes do respawn it should be something like 5 hour (Common when your playing games time flies:P) till next respawn only if it hasn't been killed off in a serious way such as droids being repaired or Paply getting a new clone.

Just make it so they have very luky escapes, escaping befor the planet is blown up, grabing a cliff insted of falling into the lava, and then after a while there luck runs out and oops you lost palply.
