Capturing ships?

Has anyone asked about Capturing Ships from the other side?

Yeah. It was kind of the question that was like the naming ships one. When it was first asked they said they didn't have it but were considering it. It would be cool if they did put in capturing ships, but I can deal with playing either with or without that ability.

Ya even with out being able to capture enemy ships it would be cool, but just imagine seeing a rebel fleet jump out of hyperspace and half the ships are Imperial ships, really demoralizes the player to be being attacked by his/her own ships.

Yup. It would add a psychological level to the game. Plus it was possible for the Rebels to capture an ISD.

Lol. Reminds me of the Bacta War book. When last ISD was tricked into surrendering by Booster Terrik because the A-Wings dropped out of hyperspace close by it. They (Booster and the Rebs) loaded up the fighters and went to Thyferra. When they arrived Joak Drysso, captain of the Lusankya, thought they (the ISD) had escaped and he now had reinforcements.

Wouldent it be hard since SD's have troops. Anyway if they do have a capturing feature it should be like ST:Armada.

For ships to surrender there pretty much would have to be morale, for any other kind of capturing ships, we'd need assault shuttles. Which would be pretty sweet I think since they were featured in the X-Wing series (games/books).

They would have bording craft instead. I would surspect you would have to protect the bording craft.

I doubt we'll see anyhting along the lines of ST:Armada's teleport or even assault craft system. I'd expect something more like we see with the SD and the Tantive at the beginning of EPIV, if it is in there.

 

Somehow I still doubt it is. I wouldn't put it past that it *could* be a hero skill though.

I rewatched video taken by Little.B and Junker and I saw a captured AT-ST there. Heres proof:

Well look at the unit bar and well theres a AT-ST Have fun with the Rebel side as being the Empire also

That might be one of the heroes in the vehicle. I think Chewie, Han, and Kyle Katarn have the "vehicle theft" ability.

does that mean if we capture hypothetically the millenium falcon with han and chewie in it, we can take them into custody?

 

thats prolly the biggest one, capturing a heroes ship while he dwells inside....

If you look closely, that AT-ST looks like it has a more elongated cabin and a barrel on top. This is most likely Clone Wars vintage, probably.

It is definitely a At-st picture, but it could mean one of two things

 

1) Han and Chewie stole it since they have that ability.

 

2) They didn't yet have a picture for the pod walker, so they used the next closet thing for the demo.

You're definitely right, there's 5 units selected and 5 unit icons.
