I wanted to ask this question in the chat but sadfully it wasn't asked.

So: Does any body know if EaW will run on other "non-Windows" OS' like Mac OSX or Linux? Here in Germany we have a very, very large Linux Community and computer nerds are alway big science fiction fans ;) This is a market Petro and LA should not miss ;)

Were you the guy who kept asking about that? I have said it once, and I'll say it again.. if you're smart enough to use Linux, you're smart enough to use Wine. Now go and be at peace my Linux comrade.

They got an emulator for everything baby, just gotta know where to look. Dunna worry about it!

I would run linux but you need a bit more RAM than usual to run the emulator and keep the game at the same frame rate as you would have on Windows. Though I've two gigs, so that isn't an excuse... Ok, I'm lazy and am content with XP, how'z that?

If you're using Linux, then Wine Is Not an Emulator.. it's just a wrapper for Windows calls. But yes, it will use up a little more memory but that's not a problem because its an emulator, but because wrappers in general cause meaningless overhead thanks to the way the languages are designed.

Not only is WINE still in development they hit beta a few weeks ago, and they support DirectX9 too. As for Cedega, I would never even touch it with a ten-foot pole because it goes against the spirit of open source (they fork Wine, then decide to make money off it? nice trick..) and it supports only the most popular games (which Wine supports anyways, but maybe a month or two later).

At present we only have plans for windows based systems.

Which is really a shame because games that run natively on Linux have such such better performance than their Windows counterparts ;).

Linux has games?

If you mean games like Quake 4, Doom 3, Unreal Tournament 2004, America's Army, then no, not really...
