Anyone feel up to rendering this handy star cruiser in my sig? Could be used as an Imperial hero unit. ;)

Grrr I still can't see why they wont include b-wings.

 

Why have the tech tree only go to ANH, it makes a lot less sense than having heros immortal. Especially when it would't be that hard to have it go to ROTJ. Just adding that little bit would make the game go a long way in making it seem more complete :x

They said in the chat the techtree won't go just to ANH, but slightly beyond to include units from later films. Barring the Executor for balance, I reckon.

 

I think they mention Battle of Yavin being a stopping-point in terms of events, i.e Rebel fighters vs. the first DS. And that the event marks a possible end, not necessarily the time or the location (Yavin), since you can change history.

 

The only things would be B-wings and TIE interceptors, really. Can't think of any other movie-vehicles we would miss*

exactly, so you think they would of just added them both, since there really is no reason not to have them.

Anyway. One point of contention about your little B-Wing model...

 

TOO. MANY. POLYGONS.

 

 

Remember,t his is a RTS, not a heavily graphics intenstive game like a space sim.

 

You don't want to overload your game with high detail stuff that would have been better spent processing data from an ongoing space battle. Besides, not many people will bother to look at the B-Wings up close and personal.

I actually like it.. he can always add LOD to his model so when you zoom out there is less polygons being displayed. But when I zoom in, I want it to look nice, not like something from 1996.

Well, they did say there's gonna be at least one expansion set down the road. I guess it would make sense to save some units for that, even if they're not many.

 

(Maybe you can reconfigure the TIE/in so it can carry various kinds of cannons, like it's hinted at through various sources? 2-4-6-8-10 guns would make it a fighter-series of its own ;P)

I'm not impatient, I am just very certain that what we are doing is good and isn't being wasted. As for the breaking up, thats a simple death animation.

 

i think its awsome your getting a head start on some of the units.

Oh ok, well maybe the b-wing will be in the expansion, i don't think its a big deal, you can also mod it in. Anyone have a screenshot of the b-wing?

TIE Intercetpor is the TIE/I

 

In Episode 6 a production model of the B-Wing was used.
