But surly its to mush of a Rebel simble not to have?

Even if its a Rebel symbol gues who came up with it ? The Republic with the ARC so they were looking for a new version so they tried to make a X-wing but it got jacked by the Rebels. Well if its a Rebel symbol well its the Imperials who formed it. We have A-Wing and Y-Wing

granted, who really wants a fleet of fighters that require 3 pilots? but maybe the TIE type fighter you see at the end when to emperor goes to rescue Vader from mustifar.
That was a V-Wing fighter. The Republic Version of a TIE. Oh and about the ARC's they are good ships. Not like cheap TIE's

The V-Wing is an airspeeder. It can't go into space. Play Rounge Squadron, the game for N64 or PC.

Doesnt look anything like a v-wing, and thought the V-Wings belonged to the rebels?

The Empire had developed something better than that in 18 years!

for what reason? if the empire had controlled the galaxy and hadnt faced any huge threatening battle, there shouldnt be a arms race to create a better vehicle. it makes sense to stick with a vehicle unless it is useless or ineffective against a threat, like the rebellion. only then i would see the logic in making a beetter ship in order to maintain order.

they dont build and research new ships in thier free timie you know, its very costly and if it fails, it is disatrous!

V-Wing looks like an A-Wing

Arc looks like an X-Wing

Jedi Figther is a Tie Fighter

Republic Drop ship is Lambda Shuttle

Turbo Tank is the AT-AT

Clone Scout Walker is the AT-ST

soo confusing......but the empire isnt original or very pratical/ effective, white armor in the jungle? no wonder the little bears killed em.

The only thing that the Empire turly messed up on was underesimating the enermy. If they were more careful the could of won.

The Jedi used skill in flying them.

True, but both the Delta-7 and Eta-2 were flyable by normal pilots and clones. In fact, the series wasn't sold off to Sienar (future makers of the Imperial TIE program) before ten years after ROTS.

As for vehicles that are too old to participate 20 years later, I doubt it. The galaxy is big enough and relatively stagnant to produce any major revolutionary technology. Even the DS is a scaled-up version of existing tech + developments of power generators that can handle pushing the damn things through interstellar distances and obliterate worlds.

Just looking at the vehicle roster for EaW, we have the Venator, Victory, Acclamator (CW) and Imperator (developed during the CW, produced shortly after).

On the land-side, there's the AT-ST, AT-AP (CW), AT-AT (first deployed during the CW, then redesigned and ressurected approx. 10 years after the CW), the 2-M repulsortank (based on the TX-130S which was first deployed during the CW) and the SPMA (scaled-down version of the SPHA, which in turn came from the CW as well).

Anything truly new comes from starfighter technology, shuttles and other landing craft, plus minor ships and armored vehicles.

at endor?

why wasnt it in the movies then?

The MT-AT was developed later, I believe.

As for Endor, we only saw a battle taking place around the rear entry of the complex. Most of the troops and vehicles would have been concentrated around the main parts of it. Possibly too far from reaching the main battlefield.

the game dose not begin at ep4 18 years later, it starts with the founding of the reble alliance ~4 years after ep3 so the ARC fighter may very well be in it.

The Rebellion was declared approximately 4 years pre ANH not after ROTS!

It was declared just Prior to the Correlian Treaty being signed. Look up your History.

Since ARC-170s, Eta-2s and Belbullab-22s are in SW:Galaxies, I wouldn't discount them being in this game, though it's probably unlikely.

Then there's the LAATs being used by the Rebels in BF II...

Heh, I think modders who want more stuff in EaW are gonna have a field-day making additional units for the OT-period. :P

To the thread starter: The history of the X-Wing is not a new concept this game is coming up with. It's been with the history of the X-Wing for years and years.

Secondly (and not to the thread starter now :) ), the game starts around 3 years before ANH, as the Devs have said over and over already.

Unless they've very recently cahnged the starting time?

There are prequel units in just about every other category, I don't see why fighters would be any exception.

There's the possibility they might go with established history, where the Rebels only had Y-wings and Z-95 Headhunters at the start of the conflict.
