Teradyn_pff Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Hey, I dont know if you have disscused this already or it sounds stupid, but, I can enter one of my planets without battling??, I mean, I have a planet, and I want to enter yust to place building and more defences, I can enter that planet wenever I want right???? This is actually a good question that has not been answered completely, to my knowledge. I suspect that with the news that the bases on land are preset, this means that you will select what addon or upgrades to apply to it and you will assign garrisons all from the galactic map. This doesn't answer the question of how you set up defensive turrets, shields and the like, but hopefully I am wrong about the galactic map part. The whenever you want part is dependant on the answer to if you place defenses on the ground or in galactic mode though. This is a sequence I would like to see expounded upon in the chat. Lytyr Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 A good question - I've been thinking a similar one, and ditto for space zones (notably for the ability to ambush w/ Interdictors a fleet in transit to a key system). Currently waiting to get Age of Empires 3, Dawn of War, and Star Wars: Empire at War
Eduardo Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 Can someone ask this in the chat please?!?! School Wars!!! Command your Forces! Crush the School!!!

Siddus Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 I guess you'll have to fight only is ennemy units are present
JanGaarni Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 This question will not come up in the chat, trust me. Here's your answer: Yes, you can visit any planet you own and build stuff there. You don't even need to bring any units to do it. If you're thinking the Galactic Map is like Dune, or the C&C series, forget it. It's much more than that. Time will actually pass while you're out of combat, continually. The computer, or the player you are playing against, will move their pieces at the same time you are moving yours. They will build their forces at the same time you build yours. They will research at the same time as you. Etc .... http://www.lfnetwork.com/images/lfnlinker.gifStar Wars: Empire at War.Net Moderator&SWGalaxies Moderator Co-Leader of The Affiliates! -A-- What we do in life, echoes in eternity!- May the pants be with you!

Jan, I think the real question is if you can actually go down to the ground map view and position your stuff when you build it, or whether you just select your planet and tell it what you want and the defenses are placed automatically. From what I have seen so far, I am afraid it will be the latter. I hope I am wrong on this point. JanGaarni Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 That's a different question on the same subject. Gen.Vader Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 i have heard that you can position where you put your cantinas and ground forces, put i cant finid the article... i am like 75% sure of it. I've have you now - Lord Vader
JanGaarni Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 The base itself is static. You choose what you want to be built, the game decides where to put it. Base defences however is yours to command. But wether you get to choose out of combat, or right before the battle starts, remains an unanswered question. http://www.lfnetwork.com/images/lfnlinker.gifStar Wars: Empire at War.Net Moderator&SWGalaxies Moderator Co-Leader of The Affiliates! -A-- What we do in life, echoes in eternity!- May the pants be with you!
