How would u like to equip your ships?

i will make turtle ISDs, ones with increased armor but less firepower, and i will have my heavy doom ISDS with huge firepower but realtively light armor protect the center of the formation. the explosive carriers. they blow and the punch a huge hole that caused thier death.

Since we know we'll be able to have a limitied ability of equiping ships with different configurations like turbolasers, ion cannons, hull and shields b4 they are built, what stratagies will u use? Will u make Ships dedicated to certain funtions, or make all your ships well rounded? Will u make your Venator a pure carrier, or will u give her firepower to take on other capital ships as well?

Ill take Imperials, and if possible ill take some ships and put lots of explosives on them, mainly smaller ships for cost effectiver puroses. Imagine seeing that your enemy has left a Executer sitting in the middle of space so you go and ram it with 4 explosive filled Carracks completly destroying it with much smaller cost.

It'll also be interesting if they give us the ability to slap more quad laser cannons on ships. Imagin a Star Destroyer fighter fighting machine!

Yeah that would be cool id remove the Weakness of TRD by moving the BRidge if i could as that would mean that i can use it against them

I suppose i should stress that this hasn't been added to the game as of yet, by Delphi, but it sounds like he hinted it could be with an expantion pack. But anywho, it's interesting to speculate all the same

you know what i would do about the weakness of the bridge, transfer all components to the aft of the ship but still inside it. Make sure it still looks exactly the same and convert the original bridge into the brig :). Imagine

 

"sir ive got a clear shot on the bridge"

 

"Go for it Wierdo leader"

 

"Got it, firing now"

 

"Direct hit, bridge destroyed!"

I hope you can load your ships with explosives. Then you could pull a Spanish Armada. The Imperials (Spanish) send a huge fleet in a nice formation. The Rebels (English) send a bunch or explosive ships to loosen the formation and then pick off the stragglers. And also hope a storm(????) or something hits the enemy fleet.(black hole?)

I hope I haven't offended any Spanish people. If I have, sorry in advance.

I hope we can fill some ships with explosives but if we cant i wonder if we can make our ships such as an ISD as a last kick in the gut to the enemy move the ship so it colides with onouter enemy ship or if we can do that it would be cool if we could move an almost dead ship next to an ememy ship and scuttle it possably hurting or destroying the enemy ship or ships. :twisted:

I would make more hanger space and armor to my Venators making it a good ship base the i would have my standerd ISD's with loads of turbo lasers and some normal anti fighter lasers. Then i would have my Victory SD's with loads of ion cannons and other Victorys with anti fighter lasers. If you can i would make a Victory with just armor and expolsive's.

Oops.

In that case, I would make one ship the ultimate ion cannon and disable all of the other ships. :P And then capture them(even though that isn't in the game also)

I still do not understand why in a Star Wars game such as this, or Rebellion for that matter, you can not use an assault transport and attempt to capture an enemy ship. Seemed in X-wing and Tie fighter, half the missions were to stop assault transports from getting to your capital ships. Def. add some depth and interesting fleet combos to the game at least.
