There will be upgrades, but they are in the more traditional sense (i.e reflective armor, increased stamina, etc).

 

Is this is what is meant in that one interview about:

Joe Bostic : Researching to upgrade your arsenal for forces will be present. There are missions the player may undertake that, if successful, will unlock new technology or units. Ship specific technology upgrades will retrofit older models so that the player isn't left with any obsolete equipment flying around

.

 

Does it mean that if a new unit comes out it automatically updates its predecessors? Or does it mean that only ship upgrades are upgraded on all ships?

 

The later seems more right to me since it says "ship specific technology" and not units are upgrading old units. The consensus here seems that everyone thinks the venators in your fleet would automatically change to the imperial star destroyer when upgraded. I would hope not tho since that goes against realism and I would like a very diverse fleets, not just ones full of ISDs.

Lucky, I got to do a silly "Black like Me" quiz which everybody voted to do on Friday and well if I go then skip I cant just skip. I skipped twice and i'm already getting my rear bitten. Well then hope my question gets answered
