Vader89 Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I never really saw the point in the leet (1337, or whatever). Anybody? Is it just for show? I have 2 friends who are good at it. TSKNF Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I canna read that cap'tan...... 1337 is not the social norm. Speak normally on forums. That is all. Darkmark Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I'm an English student... 1337 is no more a real language than pig latin is. Why people use it is a little beyond me. I side only with the language of the true elite... Real English(I of course indorse and include other real languages, like French, Spanish, German...etc) "And the moral of the story is: Appreciate what you've got, because basically; I'm fantastic." ~ Holly, Red Dwarfhttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/Forcedbanner01.jpghttp://www.starwarsforced.co.uk
Swiftdraw Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 1337 was origainally developed on a Starcraft server as some sort of code language for a clan I do believe. But Wikipedia says it was most likely developed by hackers. I think 1337 was alway kind of funny, especially when people try to talk in 1337. That borderline pathetic, but still funny. Foshjedi2004 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Whats the point in speaking in 1337?? Its such a waste of time. The Queen's English is the only language to speak!! http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Swiftdraw Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Everytime we Americans try queens English we usually get evil looks from the Brits. A guy I hung out with (a fellow gamer) a Disney on my senior trip was from London, and when I tried to imitate him he just slapped me up side the head and said not to try again. I'm now teh lurker.http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/swiftdraw.png
Teradyn_pff Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Well, try doing the Queen's English when you from Texas. Ever heard the Queen say ya'll with a nice southern drawl? My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Foshjedi2004 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Umm..Don't just don't SLAP!! http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Teradyn_pff Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Well, I say ole Pardner. Could ya spare a dabble of that there Grey Pup.. er the mustard? My Death Star is bigger than your Death Star!"The XML is strong with this one!"http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/0/teradyn.png
Swiftdraw Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 LOL. Or how about mixing Queen's English with the Queen's/Brooklyn NY accent? Probably not as bad as mixing it with the texas drawl, but still funny. I'm now teh lurker.http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/bg/type/2/swiftdraw.png
TSKNF Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I've got one-try reading Pride and Predjudice out loud with any non-english accent. Hilarity ensures. Foshjedi2004 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 MULTIIIIIIIIIIIIISLAPPPPPPPP!!!!! MONSTER SLAAAAAAAAP MONSTER SLAAAAAAAAP MONSTER SLAAAAAAAAP ULTIMATE SLAAAAAAAAP *GOD I LOVE Unreal Tournament* http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
Darkmark Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I think it works both ways. I'm pretty sure my attempts at any American accent would be appalling. Same for an Auzzy accent... Foshjedi2004 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 I can just about get away with a welsh accent. I can however do the whole posh-Austin Powers voice. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa197/knivesdamaster/tags/sith_omguserbar_member.jpg
