Campaign no.

Skirmish wasn't all that unfamiliar. Same principle, army sizes. It was never going to be exactly the same, because AOE2 wasn't a true 3d environment. Things change. Methods of building games change. It's only natural that some of the magic elements that made the originals would be lost. Remember, it's only a demo. We have no idea how it will play with all the other races.

Is the pet feature old or new ? I never played with the pet feature but it seems like a nice touch. Lol you should understand what sandbox means and its under easy  Maybe I dont understand what sandbox means but I take it as a messing around option

Level 9 is as high as I went then my xp needed went into -7050 kind of thing.

I love the demo. Good old AOE, but with goodies. I like it how the ouposts give you an advantage, but not a decisive one. The cards and home city concepts rule too.

I don't like the theme though. Especially the campaign. Competition between railway companies is REALLY exciting...

I think what we're hearing from the comments so far is that the campaign gets some support, but is the inferior part off the game for many of us.

Maybe it isn't the fact it's American history in particular like I thought, but there is something about it just doesn't inspire any desire to play other campaign levels in the full game.

well for me it was a blast, i liked the detail, the setup and the home ciity feature.i also liked how they implemented the resource and trading posts. you could see how important it was to have railroads, they were a huge asset. and its age of EMPIRES and empires need expanding right? at the time the fastest weay to expand was by what? railroads you say? no wonder there is competition. and if you think it is too easy take it off of normal and put it on hard.

My Opinion

Hey the Campaign was nice but short lol. I see you guys want harder things ? Boost up the difficulty or dont use as many units. I played as the Spanish and I hate it that you cant get more civs from the buildings.

Glitch

- I made couple Indians to protect my wall and for an attack force and they ended up being invicible and none selectable.

sorry to say this but I like the AOE 3 demo better than the EAW demo, the EAW demo is a little boring
