Hutton Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Hi all, Does anyone know how to change the number of maintenance points you get from mines and refineries? I want to change it from a one for one basis. For example: 1 refinery and two mines for 100 points.
the_mask Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Isn't that done in RebEd ? The field with the 50 ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Jahled Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 I've just had a look Mask, and I can't see where you can adjust the output of mines/refineries. I'd like to know how though, sure as hell would kill alot of problems with one swift stone... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
the_mask Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 I just fell asleep in the last lecture, but I'll dig into this, when I get home http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Hutton Posted May 13, 2003 Author Posted May 13, 2003 Thanks Mask, There is in fact an option in RebEd to adjust production for mines and refineries, but I have checked and seen that it doesn't effect maintenance.
the_mask Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Yup, sorry. I just checked it as well and it only affects how long it takes for one item (raw material -> refined material) to be processed. But now I know again, where that value 50 came from. I once saved a site about hex editing in Rebellion and someone wrote there, that you 'just' had to find that value in the game's files and adjust it. Without telling, what file that would be, of course The only alternative would be to lower the maintenance amount for your ships and troops. That would have the same effect and wouldn't play into your opponent's hands, like changing the overall amount of maintenance 'output' would do. http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Hutton Posted May 14, 2003 Author Posted May 14, 2003 Thanks for the advice, I will look for 50s, but I don’t actually want to adjust maintenance value. I want to adjust the ratio of mines to refineries, which will make mineral rich systems more desirable. Adjusting maintenance requirements of units won’t change that.
