Hi :)

Well , I don't know what's the nickname of moderators in English, but in France we say "modos" , so don't worry if I say this everywhere ;)

This how the forum will work :

I'll update Cain post- about modos and admins , by removing names and putting the link to the forums moderators list (no future update needed :D) .

I'll add a little announce about Delphi-PG and how we cant' interact with him.

I'll remove the sticky of the post : "Hello everyone" I don't think it's very useful ;)

Then, I have ideas to animate the forum, but I have to check things before ...

I'm availaible to annser at any of your questions about myself or the forums or ideas you could have ;)

Ah. A man with a plan.

Let me know if I can help with any of those things, and with any luck I'll have other things to add as it begins to take shape.

Edit: I noticed the post from Mike Legg as I posted here. I was wondering whether we should go about locking that to avoid questioning from anyone new to the forums. I would do it myself before asking, but I keep second guessing myself about taking any form of moderator action in case I get it wrong. :?

I want to run this past you before I actaully do anything Siddus. What do you think of splitting the news section in two, one area for the information to those new to the forum and another for any actual news we have. At the moment its all a bit mixed together with the comments from Petroglyph thrown in for good measure, so I thought splitting it so it's less of a mess there might help. It would mean those people new to the forum have a place to find the rules and info about admin staff easily, and those who are used to the forums can find news easily. What do you think?

Thanks Cain. I'll probably be a little unsure of myself for a little while until I get settled into it. It's early days yet.

Don't worry about it. We're all afraid to begin with. Even Cain and Ismael probably were when they started up this forum.

Cain: "Ismael will anyone join us??"

Ismael: "Cain don't worry, they will come. I have forseen it."

lol

I don't know, I wouldn't think so just yet. Siddus seems to be doing it all at the moment.

Not that I'm not trying to be useful, I did PM my ideas about the news section to him yesterday, but so far no response. I've no desire to start interferring with the news forum and disrupting what he's planning, but unless I get some kind of response it looks like I may be just sitting here twiddling my thumbs for some time.

Even if he hates my ideas, it would still be nice to know what his ideas for it are, and how I can help with them.

 Ok Update :

1. The introductions Topics has been moved to the Bar area from the News area. (* The topic is fine but I don't like the theoretichal friction it creates with our Feedback operations plans). If you guys see anyone posting his real ID or real location there you edit him and remove that. Try to keep only general stuff there about someone. I will not go into details trust me on this guys.

2. Two topics have been resticked in the news area - or we can move them into the GD - but they are to inportant for us not to give them 2 months of stickiness.

3. Moderators are all equals and they should cooperate more with each other.

4. .... I'm kind of tired - :) Seeya soon guys.

Introduction topic has move to the bar, to break with a little too serious aspect ;)

I don't agree at all. These posts are useless and the mike's post has been quoted and linked in the announcement in the forum.

Delphi's post is about a finished interview, and as I said, mike's one is quoted and linked, so do these posts really ned a sticky ?

Posted

Mike's should stay sticked since it's a recent post and there are sure to be some members out there who haven't seen it yet.

As for Delphi's it's a little old now, and I think most people have probably seen it, so it isn't so necessary. Then again considering his position

Also sorry Siddus, but I'm sure I PM'd you yesterday morning about the ideas I had and whether you agreed with them or not. The general idea was splitting up the actual news and the welcoming information for anyone new into two sub-forums to provide easier access, unlike the muddled system as it is at the moment. There's a post above somewhere where I explain myself a little more clearly. Sorry again, I was sure it had sent :?

I agree. An information center with a mix of all rules posts , welcoming information (Oh cain, we could put my introduction post here ? :D:P:wink: ) . I think put also news about forums (like one about PM increase) will be adapted.

We can create these two forums :

-Welcome office-

- Holonet news -

Right ?
