WhatALovelyWayToBurn Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 I'm lagging every time I come here so it would take forever to go through every post, can anyone give me a quick run down?
WhatALovelyWayToBurn Posted May 5, 2003 Author Posted May 5, 2003 How can I turn off the random events like natural disasters? having just watched two of my most favored systems suddenly become worthless is very annoying.
TK421 Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 Very unlikely that this happens. Natural disaster is triggered in what, 400 years? It is not possible to turn it off. Make savegames? Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
the_mask Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 More likely every 400 days can they occur. What models do you mean, WhatALovelyWayToBurn ? Those in the downloads section maybe ? http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
Jahled Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 Say, Mask, if no one understands the language the universally hated, loathed, thoroughly cursed, and dreaded natural desaster are in; can't you programmer dudes actually figure out a way to make the computer check every 400 years as opposed to 400 days? That would be a simple solution, eh? Just go to you stereo, put on some Judas Priest again, (you let that one slip recently...) and hack into the files singing 'breaking the laaawww.....breaking the lawwww.....' (dodgy guitar rif, dodgy guitar rif...) oh, and while you're at it adjust the time for new energy resources discovered every ten days... Jahled turns up UFOs 'Doctor Doctor...' ..and logs out! http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
TK421 Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 It makes your Rebellion goes WILD! It's a TC, so it changes a lot of pictures and the storyline. Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...

Jahled turns up UFOs 'Doctor Doctor...' ..and logs out! -Umm, that would be messing with the game engine itself and nobody of us programmers has been able to do that for now. Like vakundok I doubt, that we can make sense of it without the game's sourcecode. sorry. With the sourcecode it wouldn't be a problem to change the timeframe to 400 years, 4000 years and so on, that's absolutely right. The 'breakin the law' part was adapted from Beavis and Butthead, they used to sing that as well, especially in that one episode with the chainsaw and I thought it apropriate for the post about that killer-bunny But upon reflection, their singin should originate from one of Ozzy's songs back then with J.P. Doctor, Doctor ? Ah, now I know what UFO is again. My brain must've really been fried that day, when you wrote me that PM, http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif

GonkRaider Posted August 3, 2003 Posted August 3, 2003 ARe there aactually any models out there that dont make you want to vomit during the combat mode? GET YOUR HANDS OFF me you damned dirty gonks
Jahled Posted August 3, 2003 Posted August 3, 2003 ARe there aactually any models out there that dont make you want to vomit during the combat mode? I can't speak for anybody else, but personally I really appreciate the efforts of model makers. I also think they are doing a grand job. The vast majority of the downloads in the models section are truely excellant and have indeed breathed a very welcome new lease of life to the game this site is chiefly concerned about... Do you not find the Victory and Imperial-class Star Destroyer models much better than the original game ones, for example? I guess you do what you know how to do best, Gonkraider, and be negative and rude with respect to what's going on around you. I wonder why you bother. I find it rather sad and pathetic. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
driftwood Posted August 14, 2003 Posted August 14, 2003 G'day......yes, first post but I've been here for quite awhile. I got SWR way back when it first came out and I've watched the guys here slowly add mods to my favourite game from the first cards to new ship models...all without any support from the developers. Brilliant work guys. In fact, their work has made a great game even better.
Jahled Posted August 16, 2003 Posted August 16, 2003 AMEN BROTHER! Some of the new models-the new Mon Calamari Cruisers, Star Defender, Imperial Victory and Imperial Star Destroyers; now fully justify that low rumble in the tactical battle.... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
