As far as I'm aware the specs weren't anywhere like top of the range ones. Someone else will give a more accurate idea of the specs that have been predicted, but nothing has been confirmed for specs so it could all change by next February.

Just make sure you get a nice video card, something like 128 MB should do the trick, and 64 MB might too but it will be slowwwww and all graphics will need to be turned to lowest ;). Trust me, I had a Radeon 9000 Mobility a couple of days ago (got a new laptop now) and it barely ran Battlefield 2 with all the settings to low.

Also, try getting more than 512 of ram (1024 should do the trick). I have 2 gb myself.

what could you possibly need 2 GIGS for on a laptop. but i would think the specs will be middle road. 512 should be enough memory (barely) and get a good video card at least 128 mb. that should play pretty well but not spectacular.

GeForce FX 5200 seems to be doing well for my games its just my RAM thats slowing my games down it seems. Got minimized once in a game since my computer warned me about low virtual memory.

Now what cheap affordable RAM thats 1024 mb here in Canada  I hate upgrading computers since they get outdated so quick.......

edit:I got 512 mb of RAM

Snap. I have the same graphics card

1024 of ram is good for any occasion, but for a laptop you'd be looking for 512. I expect EAW to run on my laptop fine with that kind of ram. Not sure about good Laptop graphics cards though.

What do you need 2 gig for?

Well, I didn't pay extra, but so far I could open like 100 Firefox windows and never had to close anything! :-D

In a newspaper. The extra heat from the labtop, plus being in a seated position allows the area between your legs to stay warmer, goes bye-bye Little Sally and Tommy before they're even born.

Well, now 1GB of RAM can be necessary for somes games. So, if we want to keep a little advance, 2GB can be useful now. I currently have 1GB and I think i'll add 1GB soon. When ... well, when i'll have money :D

Sometimes you just need a better computer then whats recommended for the game you have since some mods for the game takes longer to animate on the screen. For example Homeworld 2 Warlords mod with tons of laser fire. I got out of sync with a friend since there was so much laser fire. :?
