WhatALovelyWayToBurn Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Since I despise diplomacy I made all the systems uninhabited, now how do I make Mr Computer opponent actually do something other than sit there? or is that not possible? Mucho thankies to whoever made this editor.
the_mask Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 You made every system uninhabitated ? Could it be, that the computer doesn't have the resources to build units to conquer new planets ? Do you have them ? RebEd was made by Revolution, btw. He doesn't seem to be around anymore though http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/5183/animated9pn.gifhttp://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://www.swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif
WhatALovelyWayToBurn Posted April 30, 2003 Author Posted April 30, 2003 Yeah every world is uninhabited except Coruscant. I gave both sides 2 advanced construction centers, 2 advanced shipyards, 2 advanced training centers, 4 mines, and 4 refinerys. They also still start with a few other planets as well.
glandry Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 If you want some action, use Rebed to populate all planets and set the importance of each sector to high. This creates a faster start, and the potential for a LOT of maintenance points. When I play this way, I often play tactical battles with 50+ capital ships and hundreds of fighters per side. Also fix it so your opponent has really cheap ships/fighters/troops. I usually cut them by half. This allows your oponnent to create huge fleets. If my oponent is the Empire, I set the Death Start to a cost of 100 and a maintenance of 100. It's fun to blow them up. Finally, I just tried this last night so I don't know the results, but I've set the research flag to '0' for my oponent. This means he will have access to all ships/fighters/troops at the start of the game while I'll have to research. I'll let you know how that goes.
WhatALovelyWayToBurn Posted May 1, 2003 Author Posted May 1, 2003 What does the sector importance effect?
glandry Posted May 1, 2003 Posted May 1, 2003 Try it. If you set the sector importance to high, all sectors will be treated like core systems. You probably noticed that rim sectors generally have lower raw materials and energy. Setting the importance to high for all sectors tends to have greater raw materials and energy, giving much greater opportunity for maintenance points. Also, the AI will be more aggressive in trying to take over sectors with high importance.
