Darth_Rob Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Wii to get Rouge Squadron Trilogy. I for one am excited. I never got to play the original on N64 (since I had the Playstation at the time), so I am really looking forward to playing these classic games. SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 9, 2008 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 9, 2008 I never played the GameCube versions, but I loved the N64 original. I don't know if they can remaster the Wii controls to make it work. I can see the controls being very easy.. or very hard, depending on how they decide to implement it. Vicentegrev Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 am I the only one that's completely over the Rebellion/Republic flight sims? Gone are the days of Empire-cheering TIE Fighter. When are we going to see a game embodying that?
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted October 10, 2008 SWR Staff - Executive Posted October 10, 2008 Rogue Squadron can hardly be considered a 'flight sim' - its more of an arcade style than anything else.X-Wing Alliance was the last true sim. I know fans on TheForce.net have been calling for a "Tie Fighter: Empire" game, but LucasArts hasn't given any sign they would make a new flight sim. Unless LucasArts commissions Lawrence Holland to do another X-Wing game, the SW flight sim game is essentially dead. Darth_Rob Posted October 10, 2008 Author Posted October 10, 2008 Yeah, the Rouge Squad games are no where near as cool and in-depth as X-Wing and TIE Fighter were. I still liked them though. I dont think a true flight sim could ever be put on a console. You need the keyboard in order to execute all the different commands for fighter. It would be horribly cheesy on a console. But Im always excited for the next Star Wars games, especially when they are older games I never got a chance to play, but now can since they are remaking it for a new system. DarthTofu Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Heck yeah! The piloting games of the nineties are returning! I still don't know why those games died out... I always loved joystick games. Granted, the Wiimote isn't a joystick, but it's still a cool thing. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
