Darth_Rob Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Ahhh, here's some new Star Wars stuff to talk about. For some reason, I did not know that Lucas was taking a direct part. I also did not know there was going to be a movie that would be released in the theaters. I am excited, and hope it does not include too much fodder for us to be upset about. Mad78 Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I must say that the trailer looks very encouraging. SOCL Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Interesting. Cartoon Network picked up the broadcasting rights, but more interesting is that TNT, of all networks, will also be airing it. I would have expected ABC or NBC... Well, good news all around! Anyone else have a hard time adjusting to the anime-style animation? I don't have a problem with what I've already seen, but every time I see another character rendered in this 3D CGI format, it kind of freaks me out. I'm only saying this because the first time I saw Anakin, Dooku, and Yoda rendered, it made me freak out, but I got used to it. Now I see Shaak Ti rendered...and I'm having the same reaction. I guess I'll get used to it. SOCL: Putting the BE in BEAK.Read the Forum Rules - Welcome the New Members - Rebellion Reloaded -
Guest Scathane Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 That looks mighty nice, E. I didn't know that this was planned... (RL tends to hopelessly mess up all things Star Wars).

Moribundus Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 The little red one (Shaak Ti) looks really cute It reminds me of Antz somehow (perhaps it's the color). This cartoonish style is quite nice, I like it much better than the anime one (the previous cartoon, unless I missed something). -rebellion2 enthusiast-Terra Reconstructed
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted February 14, 2008 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted February 14, 2008 I don't believe the little red one is Shaak Ti. It is Anakin's new padawan, Ahsoka Tano - a character developed specifically for the series. Eagle Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 "I was eager to start telling some of them through animation and, at the same time, push the art of animation forward."Well the CGI looks nice, but I´ve already seen much better animations. Even ingame graphics look much better nowadays. When I compare the pics and the (old) official trailer with this fan-project I have to say that there´s not that much difference. Just think of that GL employs at least a whole studio to create the animation series, while a small bunch of people can create something nearly similar in there sparetime. But the sound makes the music, so I´ll wait untill I see it and hope that the stories will be exciting ... and warsy enough. Who cares at all?!
Colonel_Olorin Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 hahahahahahahahahahahaha *looks at renders obi wan again* hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha but seriously they couldn't find maori voice actors for the clones ?

And according to the wookiepedia (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ahsoka_Tano), the other one is Anakin I'd never recognize him, he looks...weird. -rebellion2 enthusiast-Terra Reconstructed
DarthTofu Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Wow- mighty nice 3D. Too bad I could hardly care less about the Clone Wars in general. I stick with the EU that moves forward from the movies, and I enjoy it more than the stuff that's been churned out about the Separatists. Nothing quite like the Imperials to make it really and truly Star Wars... Four posts to go before the big four K... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Mad78 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Why can't we have a TV series based on the X-Wings novels. It would be so sweet. But still I think this series looks like it will be cool. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance

Darth_Rob Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Yeah, an X-Wing series would be cool. I agree with stepping back from the ultra-familiar characters, and maybe just deal with Wedge and Horn and those guys. At the same time I look forward to the Clone Wars series. I feel we were gyped. Lucas left such great mystery and intrigue behind the Clone Wars in the OT, but when the prequels came out, it was lamer than what I imagined it would be. The series will elongate the Clone Wars and tell more about it, which is what I look forward to. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted February 17, 2008 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted February 17, 2008 I don't think that we'll see a TV series that doesn't incorporate the Skywalker family. There are too many "fans" of Star Wars that have only watched the movies. No studio would want to have these fans confused by characters that largely appear in the books only. Mad78 Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 I honestly don't think there would be much confusion. And the storyline would surely be much more interessting. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
BadSamaritan Posted February 17, 2008 Posted February 17, 2008 Lucas left such great mystery and intrigue behind the Clone Wars in the OT, but when the prequels came out, it was lamer than what I imagined it would be. There is a distinct reason behind this. Ever since books about the EU have been written, we have been dropped hints about the Clone Wars that made it seem just awesome. The Old Republic had a strong military, made up largly of clones that eventually either went insane, or rebelled bringing about the Clone Wars. The Jedi were not everywhere, but were common peacekeepers that worked for both the Senate, local governments, and the military when they were needed, but had absolutely no qualms about kicking butt and taking names when they thought it was needed. Coruscant was the brain of the Old Republic, but Alderaan was the soul that everyone looked to for guidance. The Senate wasn't a bunch of nitwits that could be duped into forming an Empire, but was massively corrupt and prone to bad decisions. Lucas' version of the Clone wars is really nothing more than a Civil war. The Old Republic had to use clones for their military, as they didn't really have one to begin with, which is just short of completely unbelievable. The Jedi were turned into a bunch of tools there were being used at every turn by the Sith, were overly worried about interfereing to much, and were more worried about a prophecy than ending the war. Alderaan took a backseat to Naboo as the planet to look to for moral guidance. And they made the Senate outside of a few people look like complete idiots that could be duped into believing anything. See the massive difference in badassery? I once knew a great man. Nothing got to him, and he always smiled. May he forever rest in peace, knowing fully well that his freinds shall remember him.
SOCL Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 BadSamaritan, I seem to recall you are a great writer. Have you considered writing a "pure" version of the prequels...? SOCL: Putting the BE in BEAK.Read the Forum Rules - Welcome the New Members - Rebellion Reloaded -

Darth_Rob Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Thats what Im saying. Thats what we expected to see. Lucas and the EU romanticized about the Clone Wars prior to the prequels, and when they came out, we were like, "well, this is a little cool, but not what I expected..." Exedore_Neo Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 This looks great, but I hope this isn't another disaster by the studios of infinite possibilities. They love to take something awesome and see how much they can it suck until enough people tell them to end it. Err... His mishappen head, lidless eyes and twisted, hunched back distanced him even further from what the Masters had wanted. It was obvious from the get-go that Exedore Formo would never be a warrior. But they did need a lawgiver…
Eagle Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Georg Lucas talks about the Clone Wars series and more... Very interesting are his statements about how he sees the six movies, possible sequels and the novels, which are obviously just belonging to the merchandising and have no meaning to the whole series and for him at all. Who cares at all?!
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 24, 2008 Author SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 24, 2008 It's always been that way though. Lucas has his world, the Lucas publishing have the Expanded Universe.. and everyone else has their own "fandom"Not surprisingly Lucas publishing companies divide things into levels of canon, the first being Lucas's own movies, the second being everything compatible with EU, and the third that is everything non-canon.
