RotorHead Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 Lots of great stuff here for former Rebellion players! Although I'll only be around for a couple more weeks, I would be interested in getting together for some online play. However, there are some issues I'm trying to resolve... Getting past the firewalls seems easy enough as there is a lot of help w/this subject in previous posts. My problem rests with the tactical mode. I was reading some earlier posts and I can't seem to resolve the issue of not being able to see capital ships in the tactical arena. The game runs fine, even in Vista using a Win95/98 compatibility mode. Playing an intense multiplayer game seems moot if one cannot select or view a capital ship to engage. Any suggestions? If this can be resolved, I'd really like to playing someone online as I'm quite bored with the single player. Rotor a.k.a. VE_RotorHead
ConsensusOfChaos Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I've been having the same issues on my comp running Windows Vista Home Premium. It'd be great if someone figured out what's wrong.
Jacen_Fel Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I had a friend who was having this problem as well and for a few years we played we just had to simulate the combat which kinda sucked. However we have since found a good solution and he runs a Virtual Machine on his Windows Vista system that operates with Windows XP. So whenever we want to play now we can do all the fleet battles and stuff he just turns on his virtual machine (on his Vista machine) hamachi, and we turn on skype to talk as we play. It works great! Anyway, you can get a virtual pc setup pretty easily, just need a copy of windows to install (well you have to make an image of it to use on the virtual machine to setup the easiest) and some space to set aside from the machine. Just google for microsoft's virtual pc thing.
