OOC: Calling all those old heroes

Hey guys, if anyone else remembers me. It's good ol' Ulic and it's been quite awhile. Well, I got to thinking that all of us from way back when should start another RP. Who's with me?

I'm up for a quick style of RP, albeit I am busy (damn, I've said that so much it's almost lost meaning) at the moment, so I'll probably post rather sporadically

A second. I write for fun, and I'll gladly take up some more character-creating experience.

It's always fun. So now that we've got at least three people, does anyone have any ideas? Or maybe even a time period they'd like to use?

Well, there's always this, set during the Vong war...

 

So far as other stuff goes: Interaction between characters is always nice. It allows for the development of more personality, as well as a more versatile storyline- it doesn't always go where you want to direct it...

 

What about doing something from the perspective of droids? I like the ideas of breaking programming and whatnot... That and I semi-recently wrote a four page short story from the perspective of a robot struggling with ethics under the impression that the engineer who made him was God... Meh.

 

If not from the perspective of droids in some way, shape, or form, what about a last stand, ala 300? Maybe something from the Mandalorian Wars? The Mandalorians are always interesting...

 

Edit: Eh? We could even be on differant sides!

I like the idea of adding PC droid characters. I'd love to start something new though as opposed to jumping into an older RP. Any thoughts?

The YVH droids saw a lot of action during the Yuuzhan Vong War and the Second Corellian... Umm, crises-thing that's going on in LotF right now... But LotF would kinda dictate the plot line, so we could do assaulting YVH droids in a Yuuzhan Vong struggle. There are also the droids of the seperatist line in the prequals, though I really didn't care for the prequals, and thus don't care to be a seperatist droid.

 

*Strokes invisible goatee* What else? Where else are droids key elements of the story? Astromechs, maybe? They certainly exhibit personalities in the X-wing novels. I wouldn't mind sitting in the back of one of the fighters. Would anyone be opposed to writing from the perspective of an R2, R5, etc. unit?

Well, there are always modified droids; they've all got personalities. I think I may end up staying put as a sentient humanoid character but I'll gladly leave the droid bit open.

Feel free to join Ulic, I've ended my current stink of being lost on planet which will fit nicely into introducing another character. I was planning a raid, where I could meet up with you in some way.

 

Then again, if you're not into the whole NJO and Yuuzhan Vong thing, start up another RP ... I'll probably move into that too

If we do wind up creating an RP, can I just make a quick suggestion about it? Would it be too much to ask if we could all collaborate beforehand on certain things that we wanted to have happen, such as what course any hostilities would take, any skeletons in the closet for our characters, what will happen to whom when, etc? There will still be freedom to do whatever you want and have side plots and all, but I'd kind of like the opportunity to work in something of a coauthoring environment, sort of like Zoot Wars is, but without the post ordering and with a fully thought-out plot arc that we'd each have contributed to.

 

If you think it's a bad idea and that it would be too tedious, feel free to say as much and I'll let it die- this is just brainstorming. I just thought it might be kinda handy...
