As the domain name isn't registered to any Lucas company, my guess is its a fan-based thing

We can 100% assure you that this is NOT an official Lucasfilm production and is in no way connected to them.

Well, hello there, Tofu. I hadn't noticed that disclaimer before likely because it wasn't there when I posted the link and made this thread a few days back.

It's very much in the style of the Clone Wars teaser that was just added on http://www.starwars.com

Should be interesting to see if a fan production can match what LucasFilms is doing

I think I almost prefer the CG cartoony style to the low-budget-chinese-anime style used in the Clone wars cartoons. I recognised a LOT of scenes from pictures of the Rogue squadron Comics that I've seen.

Well, that site has changed significantly since I first posted it a few days back. I must say, a squealed quite happily when I saw CG Thrawn, and he didn't look wonky like Vader or Yoda. CG animation seems to be the direction most Star Wars is headed, if the video on StarWars.com and then this video (fan reaction) are anything to gauge. I'm not sure I like making serious parts of Star Wars look so...well, goofy and cartoonish, but it certainly fills a certain void now that we no longer have film debuts to await. Besides, this is a perfect opportunity to, for a fraction of the cost of making a live-action movie (I think...), see famous EU bits (like Thrawn, Fel, Daala, Yuuzhan Vong, etc) on the screen. :)

This is actually rather exciting, reminiscent of those years from the Shadows of the Empire marketing campaign in the run-up to the Special Editions. At least, reminiscent to those of us who were young (or felt young) then and can't remember (due to a lack of life) the release of the originals.

Wow, the site has changed - there's even a video on there now :)

Looks damn spify! The only thing I didn't like was:

Coming Soon?

:x This better actually be more than a trailer

The best CG'd character they've done so far. (Most of the others still need a little work. *Cough*Mara*cough*)

Yeah, she definetely lacks real detail to give her a main character feel like some of the others. Also, her saber is kinda on the thin side

LucasFilm might have something to compete with when they release their Clone Wars cartoon. They'll probably realize that and shut them down. :(

I think that this one looks far more promising than the strictly Thrawn-based fan film. Even this is meant to be slightly cartoonish, the CG is much better than the Thrawn trillogy. I think I cried a tear when I saw Thrawn in this one.

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
