Goto "Your Account" "Your Info", scroll down, there you can either choose an avatar from the gallery or, which is much better, you can upload one of your own. You have to take a picture not bigger than 80 pixels, upload it with a picturehost like imageshack.us, than paste the link to "Link to off-site Avatar" and click on "Save Avatar", there you go.

Tofu, all I can say is ... it's great to have the freedom of self expression. As much as your avatar is disturbing, it definitely matches with your rank insignia. Why some people mutilate themselves is beyond me, and why you would pick a disturbing picture of yourself, just boggles my mind. Why not just a "normal" picture with a smile? But, whatever floats your boat

uh Rob, Jahled and Krytos have changed their avatars. Well, J has really only "shortened" his timeframe length (the rider used to explode into the tree). And K's I believe used to be some sort of a spaceship shooting lasers or whatnot.

 

@Mad: maybe just an update instead of a complete change, sorta like what you did for Christmas. How about instead of Santa & his sleigh departing the Death Star (or Mad Star ), you could have Tie Fighters or Interceptors launching? Or show an X-wing come flying by when the "mouth" closes, munching it up? Just some suggestions

True, I did have a different avatar ... Well, quiet a long time ago I believe. Hmm, not that long ago actually, the Arts thread had been started and going for a while I believe.

 

But, I agree with Rob - the avatars have a character of their own and become the person. I think Tex's avatar is another that lends itself to how most percieve Tex ... well, if you add a few hundred years of aging

Yes, that is true. Tex is a staple, as is Jedi Hunters. Im sure there are more that I just cant think of right now. As for me, I change mine every few months so I cant be counted in this level of coolness.

 

And I dont remember Krytos ever having a ship. I always remembered it as the red gel-blob-thingy.

Eh, it fits my personality, you must admit. On the subject of the avatar defining the person: I remember when BS changed his avatar from that 3D batman thing to his current one I thought there was a new member on the forums, and that an old one had run away! Mad's avatar, popping up as frequently as it did, helped me to get to know some of the people here and latch onto them. AdmiralToguroani (sp?) was another one while he was here. Tex posted so infrequently that I was amazed to notice that he had joined at around the same time as me when I checked on it around post #1000 for me.

 

Oh, Mitth was another one back when he was a Spam Lord.
