Darth_Rob Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 This year will be the second annual Festivus celebration! Based on the holiday depicted on Seinfeld, my friends and I throw a Festivus party on December 23, before I leave to go to Long Island for the holidays. We do it all! My friend bought the aluminum pole, which is proudly displayed in the corner of his house for the celebration. I am in charge of the airing of greviences, where i sit at one end of the table and go around, roasting everybody. Its great. We also celebrate Festivus with the re-gifting of a fruitcake. The fruitcake was given to my one friend last year, and she froze it for the whole year. Now every year someone else will receive the fruitcake, freeze it, and then re-gift it again! And as for the Feets of Strength, my friend and his girlfriend wrestle around. But we also made some personal modifications to make it more. For one, we have an event called Intellectual Superiority in which we all play the game Apples to Apples, which is a great party game. This year we're also gonna have a DDR dance-off and some of us are gonna take part in a 6-man Hell-In-A-Cell match on the wrestling ps2 game. It's all loads of fun! Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 My friends have been doing Festivus for some time now, though I have never participated. I'm somewhat of a holiday Scrooge. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Lord_La_forge Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 my friend and his girlfriend wrestle around. I have no idea what you're talking about, but you should share this part with us!

Take plenty of photos, and if at all possible, try to get them to wrestle in Jello! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

Darth_Rob Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 my friend and his girlfriend wrestle around. I have no idea what you're talking about, but you should share this part with us! One of the aspects of Festivus is the "Feats of Strength", where Festivus is not officially over until the head of the household (my friend) is pinned to the ground. Since nobody (including myself) want to wrestle on the ground with my friend, it is up to his girlfriend to perform the task. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! If you're headed to Jillian's Farmingdale...wait...D&B Farmingdale, tell me...if the old DDR machine is there, I'll see if I can remember one or two of the dances without tripping over my two left feet.
Darth_Rob Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 HAPPY FESTIVUS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!! Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
Eagle Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Also a happy festivus! Allthough I´ve never watched Seinfeld. Who cares at all?!
Darth_Rob Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Well Festivus was a complete success. A 4-month operation that my best friend and I have been planning came to fruition tonight when he proposed to his girlfriend of 6 years. I have been helping him plan since August. It made the night the best Festivus yet! Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png

DarthTofu Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 *Sniffle* that's beautiful! Congrats to you and your friend, Rob- are you going to be the best man at the wedding? 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
JediHunter Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 so.. wait... was there an airing of grievances before or after the proposal? hehehe.. ok all joking aside.. im curious when he sprung it on her.. really.. "Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together."http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/akira9949/4297_image.jpg
Darth_Rob Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 I wanted him to do it during the greviances. I was like "dude, just be like 'WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER FOR OVER FIVE YEARS!!! WOULD YOU MARRY ME ALREADY?!?!?!'" But he didn't like that. He got cold feet, and waited until the last possible second as some of our friends were preparing to leave. He was like "hold on. I want to get a picture of just us in front of the tree". And thats when he asked her. At least I assumed he asked her. Once he got on his knee and pulled the ring out, the girls and our gay friend started screaming so loud I couldn't hear a bloody thing. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Darth_Rob Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Well I jokingly asked him if he would attend the bachlor or bachlorette party, and he said he's excited for the bridal shower and the bachlorette because he likes "frilly things" (his exact words).
