DarthTofu Posted October 28, 2007 Share Posted October 28, 2007 *Applies CPR to this thread* Come on, guys, it's the 27th- All Hallow's Eve is less than a week away! I just got back from some fun at a local park where the Beta Club chapter of my school was doing a haunted house. We had the racketball courts- two closed in, three open air. We left one closed-in court un-touched and didn't use it; not enough people and supplies. The second was a "psycho" room- people in random costumes yelling creepy stuff and running around in a strobe light. Next were the open-air rooms: First was the Vampire Room- sheets and stuff over furniture and black lights for illumination. Then the "Creepy Little Girl's Room" as we called it- lot's of small children's stuff on the walls and floors and girls skipping around screaming at people to be their friends. Finally: My room; Intensive Care. A bloody set of sheets kept it curtained off, and inside were about five tables with sheets stuffed to look like bodies and the odd real person thrown in. Fake blood galore, and for a couple of hours we had a drill. I was the "greeter," which meant that I stepped out in a pair of bloody scrubs and shouted, "WELCOME to Intensive Care! The Patients are mad" (Wait for a scream from behind the curtains) "And we make them madder! Please, too many strangers at once will excite them, so enter only in groups of five and six- now, right this way!" I would then my arm and wave them forward (The last trick I do). People in the room ranged from rocking along the walls to jumping out from under beds. I've decided that I'm never going to be a dick to the scarers at Halloween houses- the people who yell "You can't touch me!" or "You're fake!" are a pain in the neck and need to die- we're on a budget, and we're in High School; what do you expect? The worst by far was some woman who walked through insulting everyone in the houses, calling us idiots and fak-o dummies. I had to resist the urge to throw a plastic skeleton hand at her or, better yet, jam it down her ****ing throat.  We scared some people who were willing to be scared, though, so it was fun for both us and for them overall. A lot of folks got rather annoyed when it ran over by about an hour (Stupid people moving through the atractions slowly), but I'd expected to stay until eleven tonight like I did last night, so it worked out alright for me when I left at around 11:20 after tear-down. If anyone is ever down in Florida around Halloween let me know and I'll tell them where the Haunted Island is. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will definitely be putting pics up on my website when Im done. Oh, which is gonna be next weekend. Our party is next Saturday. A little late, but better late than never. We went to a walkthrough themed park thing called Skull Island, which has a pirate theme. It was pretty fun, but was over very quickly. We happened to get there at 7:30ish, and it was dead (pun intended). It doesn't really pick up until after 10pm, so we were able to do everything there in under an hour. It was pretty cool. From what I heard, a lot of the work was done by the people who did work on the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy.
