GAME DESIGN Program at a School!!!

Hello I found a interressting School in Canada in the City Vancouver. One Programm cought my interrest and i em thinking of studying there The Program is called " Game Design " it´s a couse in 1 year (948 h basic and additonal 2250 h )with all the new 3D Programs and Utility to do a game from start to the end. Why i em from Europe i dont know if there are more Universitys/Schools like that. Perhaps someone of the people here knew a bit of it or if they are other School too somewhere, please tell me.

It sounds like that is a School Primary to do Media like movie or music buissness but the program for the game desinning looks pretty good too, so i em planning to go to the school and become a Game Designer and do my own games or something in this direction unter the rule of a big or smaller software label.

 

 

The only thing what hold me back is the expansive price for me it would cost about 19000 Euro. So does anyone knew alternatives?

Well, I must admit it looks really good... Is there any way you could apply for a scholarship or something? Or else work until you save it up... it's been done before...

 

Anyway, you can always request an information package or skim through some of their tutorials...

I mean i have the money to study there, i allready got saved around 26000 but if i subtract the 19000 € then i em down to 7000 € and i need to life in a appartment too and eat there so i think all my money will be in the end down to Zero.

 

I liked the progam very much when i saw it, but i would also like to compare with other schools how offer the same programs... but i have not found any, perhaps someone here knews more?

 

But i heard most programmers like from nintendo and Electronic arts and ofthers went there to study.

 

Could it be that this is the only school how offers that courses?

Does the school in France have a internet side? Obisoft perhaps?

Ich spreche nicht deutsch. My German is hopeless. I mainly speak English and French.

Yes sadly the site is in French. But if you want to work in the game industry i sudgest you look into art schools and maybe in to something about 3 designing.

I got today my answer from the University of Utah, i was signing in for the Master of Technology and Science, i have not a reply from the other school in canada... perhaps i do gamedesing later after my master degree.

 

So fall this year i will be in Utah... or canada if they send me a reply... lets see what future hold up for me

Well, your 26,000 Euros would give you $36,500 Canadian. As a foreign student they may charge you more tuition, but at the same time you would be able to work while you study (I also know that each Province has a Student Work Program that allows students to get on-campus jobs worked around their vocational schedule)

You might be waiting a couple more months for the College to get back to you. They won't start sending out acceptance letters until some time in May.
