Not bad... not bad at all... I applaud your skills as an author, though not your tactical ability! :) You want to attack fighters first- they close the distance sooner and can be owned by nebulon Bs... Otherwise some Interceptor squadron will damage your dreadnauts as you already found out...

Thanks, I wrote this about two years ago (that's about how long I've been away from here :( ). There were no Nebulan's present in this battle however, the Swift (Corvette) was the only ship with lasers. I will have to find some of my other work.

I liked your story, but there was one minor inconsistency:

... an Imperial supply fleet hypered into the area. A Carrack class light cruiser and an Imperial Escort carrier ...

... Thanks to our crack gunners, we were able to down both bomber squadrons and a few TIE/In while sustaining only minimal damage to the sub-light engines. We were able to mop up an estimated thirteen TIE/In before the fighters were recalled and the Escort carrier jumped out of the area....

Unless you have an enhanced Imperial Escort Carrier (and you can with RedEd, but this isn't mentioned), there should only be a total of 6 Imperial fighters. But an estimated 13 were destroyed before others were recalled to the Imp carrier, and then jump out. Oops!

Don't take this the wrong way, I like the story. I'm just a stickler for details and consistency :) . Keep up the good work

Finally, after years of hard work I am the Supreme Sith Warlord! Muwhahahaha!! What?? What do you mean "there's only two of us"?

Tex, each one of what you think are fighters are squadrons, thus a squadron (twelve fighters) times six makes 72 individual fighters- get it?

Cant Carrak Cruisers carry an addition 6 Tie fighters as well? lol. :D

(I know they can't in Rebellion because the smallest unit is a squadron.)

It's an ok story. Hope we see more.

EDIT: Whoops! I misread CR-90 for MC-90. ...yeah...

[ignore this] A better tactic would have been for the two Alliance ships to try and seperate the Imperial ships from one another allowing an even division of firepower. The Carrack would have been held off long enough by the Mon Cal cruiser for the Dread to kill the Carrier.

With the carrier dead the Ties would have to surrender or head for the planet immediately. All the while having to deal with the Alliance fighter squadrons. The Dreadnaught captain could have rolled the ship to take damage on still intact shields when they started taking heavier hits, then used the Mon Cal for cover while shields came back up. @Def: Where'd the Mon Cal come from? My assumption was the Swift was a Corellian Corvette.

Who thinks in terms of individual starfighters in Rebellion? I only think in terms of squadrons and damaged squadrons.

He used the number designation for the Corellian Corvette instead of the letter designation I'm used to. My brain only registered the "C" and the "-90" part when I read through it the first time hense the:

As an X-WING series fan and starfighter pilot as well as being a veteran of 'Homeworld' I tend to think in terms of individual starfighters.

Ditto Defender... You can see how many fighters are left in the info box, and I always do so to figure out who to send back for repairs...
