"Although he is only listed as an Executive Producer, Quentin Tarantino has been quoted as having worked on both the screenplay and the editing for the film."

No, it can't. Directing is done in a chair when the camera's 'are rolling'. You (and Eli Roth) are talking about screenplay work (before camera's are rolling) and editing work (after camera's have stopped rolling). And even then, Tarantino isn't listed as writer. Apparently, he is listed as the executive producer, which is hardly in contradiction with what he did do...

I am furthermore not in the least surprised that Tarantino did some work on the movie..., especially not since he tied his name to it...

Did he work on Hero? Would be strange since the film is all in chinese.
Well, not exactly but he sort of prevented the movie from being cut for westernm audiences....

It was finally released to theatres in August 27, 2004 after the intervention by Disney executives and Quentin Tarantino. Harvey Weinstein, head of Miramax, originally planned on removing twenty minutes of the film that he believed would be confusing for Western audiences. However, he told Tarantino he would release the movie uncut if he agreed to be the film's presenter; for this reason, his name was attached to the credits as the film's "presenter." Tarantino's instincts were accurate: Hero topped the American box office for two weeks and eventually set a record as the highest-grossing opening-weekend foreign language film in the United States.

Moreover, I'm still unsure about wikipedia's claim that he was an executive producer..., IMDb lists him as presenter...

Yeah, he didn't produce it. He just threw his name on there saying "I think this movie is pretty kick-ass. Check it out". And people say, "hey, if he thinks the movie is cool, then it's gotta be cool". And it was. Hero was a pretty neat flick.

Just watched Saw II. This movie isn't a horror movie. It DOES however earn my recommendation. I thought it a VERY good movie. I can't wait for #3 to come out.

Chaos, Panic, Disorder, Destruction.....

My work here is done.

I wouldn't exactly call it horror, but there's a movie called Lost Highway by David Lynch that has some parts in it that I thought were creepy. It's a hard movie to understand and you have to watch it more than once to get it.
