More control over characters

Hello. Since this is my first post I would like to say I really like this site. I hope to make some new friends here.

 

Somebody else may have thought of this already, but I would really like more control over the characters in the game. What if, for example, when you sent Luke Skywalker to battle Darth Vader you could choose his actions during the fight. It wouldn't have to be anything fancy or flashy, but some control would be a nice addition and make the game more enjoyable IMO. Even something as simple as a screen that showed their character pics and stats. It could allow you to choose what to do in the fight, such as: Fight, Items, Force power, Escape, etc. The characters would also have hit points and different abilities that could change over time. I know, it sounds like Final Fantasy in a way. I just think this would be cooler than letting the computer up and decide on it's own who won. This could also be imlemented to the minor characters and even special forces units when they are involved in conflict.

 

I'm guessing there's no way to make this happen, but just thought I'd bring it up.

Well it sounds like a nice idea but s usual that main problem lies in the fact that to add stuff you need the source code... That we don't have Bloody Lucasarts!

Anyway the idea is rather coold and could add a nice RPG side to the game.
